Reusing syringes (not the needle itself)?

Now that ar-r doesn't really sell pin and syringe combos that I need, what do you think of reusing syringes and just replacing the pin itself? I have a bunch of unused syringes in my collection.

I can easily get a couple dozen uses out of a syringe. This way, I only have to order the needle itself, it is shipped in a smaller package, and it is also easier to hide.

thats a very very bad idea...

bacteria grows at a hell of a rate inside a used syringe..

your asking for trouble if you do.. there are lots of places out there to get them still.

not sure i would risk it. syringes are sterile when packaged. they are desinged for single use . If left opened lying around I would think that you were asking for trouble. lots of creepy crawlies everywhere. buy a big box and forget about it.

Understandable (hence why I asked the question).

I was curious just because it's so easy to hide 100 pins (they come in a little box from ar-r) compared to how large a package of 100 syringes and pins are.

It wasn't really about the money because the price is negligible. It was just a lot easier to handle.

What I was thinking of doing was opening the syringe and needle, using it, discarding the needle, and then placing just the syringe in a sterile bag (I have access to them since a friend works in a lab).

But I got the point since everyone says it's a bad idea.

Why do you have to hide them?

I prefer not to have the world know what I do. A lot of people (such as family and friends) look down at this type of behavior.

why would you bother to reuse something like that. dont take any unnecessary risks.
you start doing shit like that and your next post will be. (i think i have an infection)

Find a really good hiding place. and stick them there.

This question was primarily geared for when I order a large quantity of needles and syringes. I usually like to order a bulk amount for future cycles and also for my friends. I throw out the ones I have used, but I keep the unused ones for the next time I need them.

I have 4 places to order them from. A place to buy them or their associated cost is not the problem for me.

needles, pins, syringes etc...... are soooooo cheap and soooooo easy to come by... they aren't a 'controlled substance' so get online, place a 10 dollar order and they will be at your house within a week in a discreet package.... any problem with that? good luck!

www.calvetsupply.com sold me vit. b12 so i picked up some pins from them as well....

I think most if not all suppliers mail them in unmarked packaging for discretion.

    Quick Historical Comment

Just one point - if you were to actually *sterilize* the used syringes, you'd be fine - before the advent of disposable syringes, *all* syringes used in the medical profession were re-usable and had to be sterilized between uses.

So the concept is valid - provided that you *sterilize* the syringe.....

i've done it several times b4 while waiting on a new box. not a GREAT idea, but i never got an infection and i was real carefull. i wouldn't advise it to anyone else just in case, but if u are going to do it take the old needle off replace with a new one then store it in a sterile place. i was doing ED shots, so i wasn't leaving it sitting around for 2 long anyways.
