Testing for Steroids
I was recently informed that my job will begin testing for steroids (randomly) during the beginning of the summer. My question is this, is there a basic cookie cutter test that everyone uses and if so how can you even test for steroids? A friend and I were talking about it and Im guessing that they check for the chemical compounds that make the it and not the testosterone level. I also remember during the MLB scandals they talked about undetectable steroids is there even such a thing or do they just come out with something new that the test doesnt look for. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

What do you do for a living? Just curious since most jobs don't test for juice...

I prefer to plead the fifth on that one all I will say is a local doctor got caught selling illegal drugs. When they went through his records they found people in my line of work on his roster and they were all being prescribed steroids . Now my job is going to start testing everyone randomly. The only thing I do not know yes tis if they are just going to do it through the summer or if they are going to continue to do it since it is very expensive.

I thought it was detectable in urine, since test is excreted by the kidneys. However, last time I got bloodwork done, I got the full panel and the nurse told me that they would have to test specifically for that. I think it would be more detectable in blood tho. But seeing as most steroids stay in the system for at least 2 months, it'd be foolish to fire someone for shit they did 2mo ago, besides its not like it affects your work at all. Unless you happen to be in LE, or a pharmaceutical position.

Thank you all for the info, I cannot confirm or deny the speculation of my line of work hehe. So I am going to have to assume that there are markers in the others that the tests pick up on but they are not in HGH? Any more info would be greatly appreciated.
