I did several PH cycles (about 4) With SD PP HD EPI all the classics.... and smoked throughout all of them. BAD IDEA. Now keep in mind that i was 17 at the time smoking a pack a day.
I quite smoking for the last week and a half of the SD cycle and my pumps tripled in intensity and fullness.
Think about it, carbon monoxide, nicotine, tar etc.... they constrict blood flow. Plus it raises blood pressure and kills your cardiac ability.
Im having gyno surgery on the 23rd of this month, which is giving me a week off work so ill be quitting cigs and caffiene cold turkey in that time frame and i feel it will be the single best thing i can do.
Plus! When you quit, your appetite will be SO high, like it was when i quite for that week. i literally ate all day. hope your gonna be bulking!
Quit ASAP bro, better pumps, high appetite, and better stamina! you just gonna figure out the best time to do so, a time were irrational thoughts from withdrawl wont land you in the shitter.
GOOD LUCK BRO WE GONNA NEED IT!

They are stupid, Pointless, addictive, harmful things designed as a mind control scheme to make money for the government. think about it, they know people will get hooked as all hell and now they tax the shit outta them!
A pack of MB reds costs 6.27 here in phx with tax included. Thats 43.89 a week and 175.56 dollars a month. Think about how many supps and how much food that will buy, plus the appetite to go with!
They got me by the balls ill admit it. people that dont smoke just dont understand how shitty of an experience it is to quit.
Again, good luck dude fight that shit. if at first you fail try chantix.

If your a smoker go to ya doc and ask what options they will offer you to help you quit.
I was a smoker till last year, and have to admit giving up was one of the hardest things ive ever done.... but so worth it!

Nicotine lowers estrogen levels, which actually combats against elevated levels during a cycle. However, smoking puts hundreds of other deadly chemicals in your body and thus fvcking retarded..

Damn in the UK you could stay on all year long with the money you save from quitting. Not that thats a good idea but damn its a good point
Did u just put it down one day or did you set a date and plan for you to quit? cold turkey?

For me personally i don't know how it effects gains on cycle as haven't done a cycle since i quit.
But my place smells nicer when i walk in, my cloths smell nicer, my miss's doesnt complain i stink of smoke any more....
I can breath properly, i dont cough any more, endurance on cardio is going up and up and up (used to struggle with cardio b4), i swim every week (swam 3 miles when i was 15, couldnt do 20 lengths when a smoker)
And i have more money and a better chance on seeing old age...
Those reasons alone made it worth it!

Went to the docs and got ZYBAN.
Then its a 6 week course where you have set points..
List the reasons why you wanna give up, and benefits of giving up,
Start the zyban,
About a week later set a date another week later to quit,
You will still crave ciggis but wont finish them as they dont hit the spot,
Then after a point they start tasting horrible and metalic,
Then when the date to stop them comes your less fussed about not actually smoking but still get cravings (not so bad though)
Then things get easier and easier the more time goes on.

It was from numerous PH/PS cycles right after i turned 17. i was on Orals for about 3-4 months streight no pct no ancillaries. I had no idea how bad they were, all i knew was that friend of mine said they were good. he got me some without any research and my stupidity caught up with me.
The worst part was that my body didnt tell me they were bad. i got none of the common side effects associated with orals. No knowlege+no side effects= all good in the mind of a 17 yr old who was getting fantastic gains at the time.
I got blood work about 8 months later and Thank god all was within normal ranges. The gyno developed about 2-3 months after i stopped.
Sorry to jack your thread curtis, anyways.... Yes cigs will hinder your gains in many ways, bottom line.

I deal with amputations and I know that if someone smokes they have less than 50% chance of having a limb reattached when compared to someone that does not smoke. Therefore, when considering lifting, eating and healing to grow, I would imagine smoking hinders the healing process as expeditiously as when not smoking. I think it would be safe to deduce that smoking would hinder your growth; at least to some extent.

I quit smoking 6 months ago. The hardest thing I have ever done.
Went to the doctor and got prescribed Chantix.
I've tried Zyban, patches, gums, etc.. before, and nothing worked except Chantix.
6 months I've been off, but still crave every day. Addiction to smokes is a bitch, but I feel 1000 times healthier and cardio is a lot more bearable.

Its hard to quit smoking I know, but if you have the motivation to bust your butt in the gym, then you should have the motivation to quit smoking. Which do you value more, your hard earned gains through working out, or your depleting health with smoking?
Make the effort to quit contradicting what you are working for.

I am totally amazed at the number of people who smoke that are serious weightlifters. I don't have any real numbers, but it seems like a lot of people are doing this. If you have the dedication and determination to devote that much time of your life and energy to lift and exercise, surely you can devote that kind of effort to quit smoking.

I quite smoking nearly one year ago and have not smoked since. I do get cravings, but think to myself, if I still want one after this long, think how much I would want one after smoking one. This has helped me to stay away from them.
If you want to quit; you can.

I believe that if you are into fitness and care about your health than you should not be smoking. If you smoke and take AAS you obviously just care about looking good. If this is the case continue smoking and take you AAS.

It really comes down to how commited you are to the sport of bodybuilding. I used to smoke before I was serious and started to compete in shows. I am so glad I quit!
