Is Test a Steroid?

I've been arguing this for too long. Now i wanna get the pros opinions. My friend and I keep arguing about this. He's saying that's it illegal and so its a illegal steroid . I'm saying that our bodies already produce test, were just adding alot to it, so its not really a steroid. I think its kinda a gray area, nonetheless i wanted to get your guys's opinions on the subject. Thanks.

test comes made in test base form then the different esters are added to it to make it test e, test c, test what the **** ever ,so maybe test base isnt a steroid its only when the esters are added, idk

So things like methyl 1-d aren't steriods they just up the test production then yes? I dunno i was never really into supps that much, i bet shield knows more about it than i do.
