First Cycle: anavar??
I am planning on starting my first cycle and am considering taking oxandrolone. My goals are to gain strength and about 8-10 lbs of muscle in 10 weeks. I am planning on taking 40mg a day of B.D Anavar . Im not expecting to radically alter my physique i simply want to gain lean hard muscle. Would this be possible and is this the best stuff to take???

Are you adverse to injectables ? Testosterone is usually a better choice for your first cycle

Im not against injectables i just am trying to avoid the side effects of test because i had acne as a teenager and have a history of heart disease in my family so I dont think im a ver good candidate for test.

i guess if you have the cash for Var then go for it... like the guys says you could proabably gain that natural but...
also what weight class are you looking to fight at? if your 180 now, i can only assume you cut to 170... which im sure is hard enough at only 8% BF, and now you are planning to put on 10 lbs from Var since it will be lean muscle mass, it will be nearly impossible to make 170. So you are probably looking to move up to 185, i would reassert your choice of gear... as a guy who had a simular situation, trust me... PM for some answers/ personal experiences that will shed some light...

cutting 15+ pounds is nothing to a fighter. especially since they get a day to replenish before the fight. this year, i was cutting ~14 for wrestling and would have a couple hours after weigh ins before the matches started. the bf doesn't matter, as long as you're hydrated you can cut the weight no problem
the bigger problem i come up with is what happens when you get tested post-fight

you obviously do not fight... Contrary to popular belief, cutting 15+ pounds is not only HARD both mentally and physically, it can impose serious health problems. And body fat does matter, generally speaking, people with 8%bf typically do not retain enough water to cut 15+lbs with realitive ease(not saying it cant be done, just that its not a great idea one day before a fight).
Hes talking about putting on another 10 pounds of lean muscle mass, which is way different of 10 lbs of water weight. So if he now weighs 180lbs, +another 10 lean lbs, that equals 190+lbs of lean muscle, with his body being at 8%bf! And your going to tell me that he can cut to 170 after? UN-LIKE-LY! So the point i orginally was trying to make was that he should consider bulking up and putting on MORE than just another 10lbs if his plans are to fight at 185lbs. 185lbers typically walk around at about 200+ leading up to a fight and work there weight down to about 190, 195 a few days before the fight. Making it an easeier and more important SAFER cut to 185. So it would be better to bulk up more, or consider just seeing what he can get natural in respect to what his ulitmate goals are.
No offense T Own... Sorry for assuming, not trying to be a dickhead, i just know from years of experience, that its better not to learn the hard way. Im just saying, ive fought before, i train with/train fighters, you havent.
Or maybe you do idk

i say stay natural, at 20 and in that weight you are good....your weight strength and mass will gradually increase but just give it time....dominate the 170's and when you dominate go up.... i fight to and im ur age and my experience in a higher weight class is that even if u are exceptionally good you dont want to fell the punch of a person that is 30 or 27 and that has been in that weight for more time than u and that is most likely going to be stronger...although thats on the training and others etc.....but stay like u are right now ...

^^^???? Take it easy on the self promoting bro...
Being older doesnt mean youre stronger or hit harder...
WTF are you talking about?
When you get a check for a fight, is the day you can call yourself a fighter...
