Making a difference in our Forum IN REG: SOURCES, ADMIN PLEASE READ, Keep bumped!
As new members enter upon our board for registration, it would be very useful for them, and would alleviate any stress that will commence in uneducated questions if the board rules would be the very last thing when clicking the complete registration before entering the board and clicking a check box "I HAVE READ THE RULES". NOT AS A LICENSE AGREEMENT, JUST SOMETHING THAT WILL GIVE A NEW MEMBER NO REASON TO SAY, WHERE ARE THE RULES? I DIDN'T SEE THEM!
In the rules is should be highlighted and in bold letters NO SOURCE ASKING OR SOURCE CHECKS!
If you feel the same please keep this thread going so that we may help our board and fellow brothers from any problems in the near future.
Rather than repeating ourselves over and over, new members should be forced to read the rules upon entering any forum of ours or posting anything,
NOT TO BE PLACED AS A STICKY, MANY WILL SAY THEY HAVE READ THE RULES, BUT WE ALL KNOW THE TRUTH,
KEEP THIS THREAD ACTIVE AND ALIVE UNTIL ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN!
OTHER SUGGESTIONS:
Make it necessary to type before entering, "I WILL NOT ASK FOR, OR NAME SOURCES IN MY POST."Last edited by breakbones; 08-06-2008 at 01:18 PM. Reason: update

I agree, but my concern is that it would be like the license agreement when installing new software. We've all seen software that has the little box and you have to check that you agree before proceeding, but most people just check the box and rock on without ever reading the agreement. In theory it's a great idea but we would still have our share of guys who said they read the rules just to proceed.

Correct all the way, but it would at least put the rules in there face, and give them no reason to say, where are they at? or oh, there's rules!

How about making them type in a sentence like "No Source Checks Allowed" instead of checking a box??
At least they would have to consciously THINK about it then.

That sounds good, if they check a box even though it is not a license agreement, it will at the least give them a second look to what am I checking. sort of a way to get them to just do one more thing that would keep the rules in front of their face for just one more second. One more second can do a lot for some people.

It would alleviate that much more stress of everyone complaining about, "READ THE RULES MAN!"
or for the new members to say, "I didn't see them!"

or make it necessary to type before entering, "i will not ask for, or name sources in my posts." then if they do...... ban them.

i think i needs to be done ASAP!
too many people register here, ask for sources, and get pissy when they dont get them, and then end up being banned or just stop logging in.
Some kinda regulation is needed.

i agree,
before registration, make em answer a question:
"which of the following are acceptable?" and list a bunch of "innocent" questions.
then have a multiple choice answer A. B. C. D. and E. NONE of THE ABOVE.
registration only accepted after the correct response "none of the above" is selected.

This sounds good, I like all the ideas and hope something can be done about it. It just might give Big a break too, I mean come on.... on average, how many bans or locks does Big do a day?.... I am guessing around......50 total.... give or take 40....

I like the idea as well. Its something that I had mentioned a while back briefly but i got the replies that it would be ignored. I still think its a great idea and should be put in place. This way there are no if's and's or but's about it. Great thread breakbones!

Keep it safe? isn't this what everyone states, we need to stop banning new members that put themselves out there to hurt our board.
