    Training & Antidepressants

I'd like to hear ur thoughts on the subject! My training partner has been on them for a while now,ive noticed a change in his personality but ive also noticed a large change in his training intensity!he doesnt seem to have the same passion to pump out those last killer reps.im not sayin he shouldnt take them as im no doctor & if he needs them, then obviously should take them, its just that he wants me to set up a cycle for him.now im not sure if its such a good idea.any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated!shot

Some kinds of Antidepressants makes you dull. I would _Never_ recommend steroids to people on Antidepressants, because it can easily **** up their well-being because of the temper, loss of muscle in the PCT, superman syndrome, etc.

Also get your training partner to do cardio, along with strength training, as it releases endorfines.

I have some experience to suggest that it's no prob. at least with SSRIs.

Someone with severe depression or suicidal thoughts== no!

Someone who uses SSRIs for mild blues or irritability = probably fine with proper cycle.

Exercise is the best thing you can do if you're dealing with depression, tricky tho it can be to keep motivating yrself, the release of endorphins is very beneficial. Perhaps your friend is experiencing a lull, everyone does anyhow, but at least he / she still gets to the gym eh.
If your friend is having a very hard time with depression right now then steroids may not be right, at least not just yet. Personally i think the extra high boost of testosterone is exactly what is needed really, all that extra vigour etc; all i'm worried about is the end of the cycle where it all winds down, if you see what i'm getting at.. Have them sit and have a real good think about if they could handle a 'crash' whilst being medicated for depression.
I am taking antidepressants myself, have done for a few years now, i have also just finished my 1st cycle. On cycle was great, PCT time not so great; but alls good. Get to bed early and NO beer. NO beer. Not a good stack..
    Good luck, be safe

Hey thanks big boosted thats the type of experience i was after, and ive explained to him he'l feel like a superhero on and feel shity after but he's pretty persistent, and thought if i found out some guys have cycled while on antidepressants then i dont think they'd have an adverse effect on each other(chemically)

yes Prozac is one of em.

thing is he's taking antidepressants. that's a treatment, not an illness. the antidepressants may make him deal off cycle better than most other people actually.

Yes Prozac is one. Wiki has a good write up on SSRIs, worth a look.
My experience goes like this, if i had done this cycle last year or any of the few years earlier i'd prob not have seen it thru very well. Nah scap that; i wouldn't have done it right at all. For me it's the motivation thing; it's just simply not worth while doing a cycle if there's a good chance you can't eat very well and be motivated every single day. Perhaps your friend IS ready to go, but it really is well worth seriously weighing it all up. Perhaps next year will be better, it's not a race. Health first, always.
Everyones here to look and feel better, but even the biggest bros carefully plan everything out safely. (and that isn't ment to sound patronising btw)

i agree 100% ive been plannin my cycle for the last 6monthsthats somethin im also worried about is his motivation!how dedicated he'l be cause cycling takes a shitload of dedication!wel a good 1 anyway.and ive discussed all this with him and he understands it and accepts it but he seems to change his mind as often as i take my protein shake!but then again id rather be the 1 gettin him the gear then him buyin the stuff from some dodgey internet site!
