I have to go to the neurologist soon and take a series of tests like MRI's and such. Since I will be on a cycle when I take the tests, is there any way that the results can be altered because of what i'm on?

i doubt an mri, x ray, ctscan, etc could tell. the only thing that might be possible is if they looked at your kidneys or liver and some traces were accumulating, but i highly doubt that could happen
i don't know =x if you just got a normal test, like for illness, probably nothing. but like a sports test would find it. i don't know what they test for in girls, like if its the test levels (like in guys).
I'm getting tested for any problems. I get unbearable migraines so severe that I get nausea and partial body numbness. About 3 times a month. So they are going to check everything and anything.
oh.. well in that case i would think its best to just be straight forward with the doctor. if they do run all the tests, they can tell you've been using something, so if they make it out to be a big deal, i'd just tell them. thats better than beating around it and maybe hindering a solution. good luck with that though.. not good..
what compounds are you taking?
I have to agree with T on this one.
imho, telling the doctor what you take is not going to help you. if there is any chance that what you are taking is causing migraines, then you are smart enough to stop them for awhile yourself and check whether that results in improvement.
telling the doctor could result in not being treated seriously or being blamed for your problems.
they are not testing for anything and everything, though I know that at times it feels like they are. only blood tests have the chance to reveal abnormalities due to steroid use. (which is why they don't MRI at the olympics...) they are NOT going to test you for steroids, that's for sure. it would never even enter their minds unless you were a jacked musclehead--i see your avi--you're not one of those.
depending on what you take, hematocrit could be very elevated. i could imagine a situation in which that would result in migraine-like headaches. if the hematocrit is really high and the doctor tells you he wants to run more tests because it concerns him, then you might consider cluing himer in on what you're up to.
taking clen and var. I had the migranes long before I was ever on anything.
Agree with Scibble. In this case I would not reveal it. If you are going to eval the migraines, and you know you had them before any gear, that already eliminates them as a cause and mentioning it would just confuse the issue and give them an opening to dismiss you. Neurologists are pretty thorough and may test you for a lot, but I can't imagine any standard workup test identifying your use. Good luck.
i was at the neurology office a few months back and they do like to take blood work to check for certian levels. and they can inject a blue die in your system for the mri but idk if that will affect anything.
I would be careful about interactions with some of the migraine medications and clen.
As for the mri, if I were having one done I wouldn't worry about being on cycle. If you let the dr know you are on cycle then expect for the dr to instantly assume its a side effect of the cycle.
i doubt a doctor would be that irrational. if he understands they have been going on for some time now, he wouldn't assume its from steroids which started like 2 weeks ago. they might not be helping, but they don't seem to be the root of the problem either, and i think the dr would notice this.
you'd think, right? and I agree that a reasonable physician would think this way. but there are a lot of jerks out there...be ware, BE VERY WARE
MWU-HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! ewww....
how many people you know who have complained that such and such doctor didn't really listen to them? i hear it constantly. i also know a nice neurologist and also some neurologic surgeons that tell patients straight up "you're too fat, go lose some weight" and Cha-CHING! bill a hundred some dollars for the pleasure of being insulted.
good point above about taking great care with some of the migraine meds and any type of stimulants.
I wouldnt let them know unless it starts to become a problem or if they ask. Also if you are put on meds I would def. ask if they would conteract with the clen or var as that may become a serious problem. But as it being the underlying problem of your migraines i highly doubt it as you said it was all before your cycle and any of this.
There should be no issues with the MRIs!
I feel you on the migraines - I had them since the 6th grade. Have you considered alternative medicine? Acupuncture to help restore the body's self healing process? - Look into it - it has helped me so much. I'm on my 2nd month of acupuncture and migraines gradually faded away...I study Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAMboy) and I suggest u give it a shot. PM me if u have anymore questions.
