It can be done, if your having alot of difficulty use a mirror to see what you are doing. I prefer quads though.

I agree with Redz, Quads are easy... I can do the right glute by myself, i need help with the left.

I think this depends on how big or flexible you are. If I'm hitting my left glute I'll use my left hand to hold and aspirate , then inject. Only thing is being in that akward position for a minute or two causes my lats to cramp up...not nice!

You do it carefully and you are right the most difficult thing is to see while aspirating. But to remedy that problem stand in front of a full length mirror in a well lite room and you'll be able to see if blood draws back in the needle. Also, you should rotate injection sites to reduce the build up of scar tissue and keep the receptors fresh. Shoulders are easy and so are legs if you aren't sensitive in that area.

Did my 3rd shot today, Shots one and two were into L/R quads, was quick, painless, in and out like butter. Did 3rd in glute... **** was it awful.
First time Ive felt the "sting" of the gear going in, needle moved around a ton while injecting/aspirating. Got a kink in my back, and to top it off after I pulled the pin out some oil leaked out of injection site. I took about 20 seconds to inject, but i guess I rushed the last .1ml and pulled pin out soon as i was done since back was cramping.
Not looking forward to next glute shot... can't wait for another quad shot though

if you inject in the ventrogluteal you shouldnt have any problems at all. Its not hard to reach and you dont need to twist around or have a mirror.

I agree
I've noticed the lower I go on my glutes the more discomfort I feel. Hit the outer/upper quadrant and you shouldn't feel hardly anything and make sure you're in a relatively comfortable position to begin with. Reduces the chance of moving the syringe around once you've inserted it into the muscle...

So if you do injection alone, for e.g in the right upper glutes. You do it with your right hand and aspirate with same hand?
