    Anyone seen this letter?

Well I had used signature pharmacy for HRT. As you well know Signature was one of the pharmacies that was shut down a few years ago. I had used them for hormone replacement. I thought it was legit then they got shut down. Anyway, today I get a letter from the Florida attorney generals stating that my ** records were seized as a result of the search warrant at signature. (I figured they were but didnt think I did anything wrong). They are asking if I object to a review of my prescription records. Has anyone received any similar correspondence? And if so have you contacted them? I plan on calling monday but Im a little nervous right now. I will cooperate fully but what are they looking for? Evidence against the pharmacy or me?

I don't know of the letter you're talking about, but i wouldn't say anything. I wouldn't respond in any form or fashion.

anything you say or do can be used AGAINST YOU (never for you)
in court you attorney cannot use any of your cooperation to defend you, its called hearsay for the defense. evidence for prosecution.
signing releases/giving statements etc. can ONLY hurt you.

No, basically what has happened is that the state wants to go through their patient files to see if everything was legit or not. They sent out letters because they can't look at patient records without your approval due to HIPPA.

So basically you say yes or no, I'm sure they worded it to make it look like you have to say yes, but you don't and there is nothing they can do to you for saying no.

    No worries.

So call them, tell them that you object to them viewing your records and thats all.

    +1 for attorney.

One hour of time up front should tell you everything you need to know to make the right decision (or the decision you feel is best).

    Good luck!

Do NOT call, if anything speak to an attorney even if you are 100% in the right. Like previously posted it is NEVER in your best interest.

I got one today as well, I do not think I am going to ask or write them anything either. My family Doctor also has me on HRT so I see no problem imo.

I would ignore it. I doubt they can "review your records" unless you specifically allow it, so ignoring them is the same as saying no.

file that objection asap. they arent going to be helping you out by looking at it. also, whoever said get a lawyer is a fool. you dont need a lawyer for this, just write it yourself. better yet ill charge you half what a lawyer would and write it for you.

ok, so you saw through that one. But theres no sense in getting a lawyer if you arent being charged with anything. even a lawyer would tell you that (for a fee).
