    rubber in syringe

ok so I was in a rush this morning and realized that I ran out of 21g needles and had to use an 18g to draw...we'll long story short I realized there was a piece of the rubber stopper in the syringe about 1/2 through injecting...the rubber was all the way at the bottom and I stopped a little short to make sure I wouldn't inject it (using 25g to inject probably wouldnt have fit anway).

has this every happened to anyone else? am I going to DIE!!!??? j/k but I am worried about infection
