? about re-using needle
Im paranoid about doing this but thought i would ask what other people think, can i re-use the needle to withdraw the gear not to inject tho, i use a differ one to do that everytime.

You can under no circumstances reuse needles, Period. Unless of course you want an infection.

like you might get away with it, but its not worth it by any means. they are like 10 cents each or less it makes no sense to do that

There are millions of microscopic particulates floating around the atmosphere and inside the air of your house. As soon as you expose a needle to the air, it is no longer sterile.
The longer it is exposed to any non-sterile environment, you run the risk of cross contamination.
Rule of thumb: If you don't think they would do it at the hospital, don't do it at home!
Discard used tips and pins after every injection.

why not just draw up your whole cycle in one go, if you want to save needles.

If the question is can you use the same needle to draw with several times before you discard it, I always thought that answer would be yes. I do that all the time. If you're saying use the needle that you just unjected with to draw next next, then no. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

ii dont think thats what he meant, he is saying that he has an 18guage needle that he uses to with draw out of the vial, when he is done withdrawing from the vial he puts on a fresh needle to inject with. and he reuses the 18 guage to draw out with everytime.. i dont see a problem with that

i see a lot of problems with that.....
1) needles are so cheap, why not use a new one
2) the 18g drawing needle is now exposed to air until you use it again, that will carry any dirt, organism into your sterile vile. Upon punturing the stopper again with that already opened 18g, you have now contaiminated your sterile vile....

Ya. Me neither. Everyone told him no right of and that is what confused me. It's a filler or drawing needle and you don't need a fresh one every time.

Prevention is the best protection! Dont re-use it even to draw only just to be safe.

So you want to go through two needles every time you inject?
-
11-21-2008, 04:27 PM #18
I dont mind using 2 everytime I inject. Its cheap

You can get like 100 tips for $5.....are you really this cheap.....
and yes, you need a new tip for drawing.....you are puncturing the seal of the steril vial, so anything that is on that dirty 18g needle is now going to be transported to the inside of your vial....
Its common sense, use you head.....

Clean all the way m8, better to be safe than sorry. I dont take the top off the pin until I'm ready to inject, I always swab the top of my vial and leave until its dry b4 I draw from it, I swab the area that I'm injecting and I never reuse needles

Free, and people still are reusing needles.....makes no sense......The more variables that i can control in keeping everything sterile, i am gonna make sure that i do.....
If i am injecting something into my body, i want to know damn sure that it is sterile....

I mean I even give my hands a quick wipe with a swab, some might thing its overboard but thats up to them

I say, do whatever you think is the cleanest, most sterile way.....Just dont be an IDIOT, and use the same F*cking needle......

crap me 2, it aint that cheap. But i understand, im not going to reuse any needle. I was asking to withdraw one time (using the same needle, never removing it fromthe bottle untill all is gone) but into separate syringes then cap em with sterile needles i havent ever usd before, so that way everyday i dont need to draw anymore, i just take the top of my syringe and shot it.

Lets see, if I use the same pin for my next 10 cycles I can save enough to buy 5ml of test, yeah baby.
