quiting isn't hard you just have to put your mind somewhere else. Its 99% mental. I know how that sounds but its the truth, mind over matter. If you'd like to test this try going to a hypnotist,,,I've heard excellent reports.

check this out it's a wayyy healthier for you if you have a hard time quitting and legally you could use this in the gym cause you blow out vapor not smoke.

No no The term fag in America means a homosexual. Hence the question mark. And I understand in brit it is a cigarette just thought it was funny. Anyway you should quit. Best way is to do cardio (running miles after miles) till you body forces you to quit. At least thats the way I did it when I quit smoking at 20. Smoked from 14-20 ( a pack of Malboro Reds or Newports ed). And ran mile after mile working my way up that eventually my body rejecting smoke inhalation

If you have a craving for a smoke. Just ignore it. It's simple.

I went cold turkey. It was hard but I did it and it took some time. When I would want a cig I would look at a picture of my two kids I keep in my wallet. Wanting to see them both grow up and not have to deal with chemo was enough for me.

I quit cold turkey about two years ago now, after smoking for 10 years (yes, I started early). Just depends on what you want more, doesn't it? It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.

To answer the original question, yes, it does affect your gains.

Smoking constricts blood vessels, so you'll limit the blood to each muscle group during workouts as well as decrease your overall endurance.

There is an interesting progression of what happens when you quit...I will look for it bc the benefits begin after 72 hours upon cessation...Very interesting, but compelling evidence to listen to the bros above and quit ASAP.

never smoked a cig, i don't think i ever will, but its definitely better to quit. even if it doesn't affect your gains that much it does affect your life, especially later on. you might not see it now but smoking can lead to numerous problems when you get older. one set of my grandparents both used to smoke and both quit but they still cough and have a raspier voice than they should. thats little, but it gets much worse

Less money you spend on fcking up your lungs the more that can be spend on better quality food or supliments.

Quit it dude, i am sure it will make a dramatic improvment on your workouts let alone your lifestyle.

    good luck

    good luck with quitting!

i've lost a few people directly related to smoking/cancer - it's not pretty.

esp if you're young and into taking care of yourself - it seems kinda counter productive :P

quit, cut back, slowing down is better than nothing (of course quitting is the best option)
