Ideal weight and bf for a 6'6 foot guy to start cycling.

Im 26, 6'6, 186lb @ %10 bf (small i know). Been lifting for 6 years now. Diet in check and all that - in case you wonder

I want to get my bf down to %8 before i start using steroids....now what i would like to know is: at 6'6 and %8 bf, what would my ideal weight be? I mean...what should my body weight be at %8 bf....(ideal weight). In order to start cycling. Thanks for the input in advance guys.

at least 220, but i would say 240 could be attained easily, you've got some serious height so you have the ability to pack on alot more muscle then say i would at 5'8

240?! Aint that a little too much - in a sense of it being "unrealistic". I mean thats like 54lb of lean muscle!! ...and im to achieve that without steroids too :|

well i'm at 200 at 5'8 and haven't cycled yet, and one of my training partners is 6'1 240lbs at around 15% and hasn't cycled either

you could cycle sooner, i was just pointing out what i think would be close to your genetic potential

Honestly, at 6'6" 186, your diet isn't too in check, and no, I'm not flaming you at all. You need to eat A LOT more and get used to it. If you can't eat tons of food before you start juicing, you'll just be wasting your money by cycling, since diet makes you grow, not steroids.

    Diet, diet, diet!

Yea good move. Least your one of the smart ones. At 19 you DEF shouldn't be cycling. It's amazing you're that into gear without being able to touch it lol. I could never do it! ><

I get what you are saying. And at %8 bf im thinking that could either be almost impossible to achieve (without steroids) or it will take a life time.
Keep in mind also that i will be further reducing my weight when i loose the %2 bf. So im guessing ill probably be something like 178-180lb. So then ill have to gain like 60-62lb of lean muscle?! I dont know, i feel thats like totally impossible. But i could be wrong...

I totally agree with you about diet. My current meal plan is %50 carbs %30 protein %20 fat...very clean. 6 meals a day. Calculated down to an ounce. Im currently consuming %30 less than my maintainace (tdee), because i want to loose fat. I used to be %24 bf about 4 months ago. I started cutting so i could start cycling

try doubling the carbs upping the protein by 50-100 grams, theres no point in trying 2 loose bodyfat at 10% at 186 you gotta build the size first cutting at that weight would be a bad idea try get over 5k cals in a day n grow grow grow

i'll admit it's hard, but i'm so busy with school and such that i don't have the time to devote to a cycle, i'm having trouble getting up to the gym twice a day as it is and i want to cut down to 8-10% and then lean bulk from there, just so i know what works for my body before i cycle

i don't think it's as hard as you think, being as tall as you are you could put on muscle very quickly with the right diet

Why is it a bad idea to cut at this weight? I mean i managed to loose %14 bf in 4 months. Goal was and i guess it still is to get to %8 bf. Used to weight 240lb or so then. Of course i lost some muscle along the way...but isnt that normal when you are cutting?

depends, i'm cutting as well but i'm going from 16-18% to 8-10% over the course of a few months, slow cutting will allow you to keep muscle, but dropping 60lbs in 4 months you will definitely lose some muscle

I see the problem please dont get mad but you are not eating near enough...I eat that much in my first two meal when I am traning hard.....dont get me wrong it is a good cutting diet,,,but you need to eat anywhere between 3500 and 4000 cals if not more a day.....

I am 6'7" and was about 280ish before I started AAS (this time). Of course I had the opposite problem that you do. I was like 375 (Jabba the Hut) so I took the better part of a year to get down to that weight. You have to get past that Restricting Diet mentality. Because if and when you do use AAS your food has to be clean but PLENTIFUL. You can't starve yourself and have success putting on lean muscle mass. Learn how to eat/ when to eat what foods and how much etc. It is a constant learning process... Especially for me... Good Luck!!!

Really appreciate your input guys and prone2rage...got no reason to get mad bro. On the contrary...i really appreciate whatever advice you can give me.
One thing i dont understand though...if im cutting then i should eat less calories than i burn (which im doing)...and if i want gain weight than i should eat more calories than i burn. And what you guys are suggesting is that i eat way more than my maintainance...that will mean i will gain weight...which will go against what im trying to do; cut (loose fat).

not always cut down on the carbs and up the protein and keep the healthy fats the same or just a little less you can eat more and loss fat and gain muscle....you are going to check you body fat every week to see were you stand...do not use the pos you just hold on to get the fat measured......I know it dont make scene and you might feel like you are gaining weight but it is just muscle and losing fat which is lighter...that why you need you bf check each week and it is motivation as well .....JMO

bro at 6 foot 6, and 186 lbs your prob like (guessing) 6 % body fat... you need to find a diet that is based around protein, and medium carbs... dont be afraid to get up to 12% body fat... (first you need to find out what dif body fat %ages look like) and get in to the gym. . . with a good all around work out based in moving iron...

as for cycling i would strongly recommend maxing our you natrual potential then move to aas

when i was in high school i was 6 foot 1, 157 lbs... and like 3% body fat... i ate correctly and did two cycles (8 weeks of test 2x) and put on 70 lbs... i put on as much weight on cycle as off cycle cause of a good diet...

im not a nutritionist or a doc so all this is my opinion

  26. #26
So at 6'6 and %8 bf. What do you guys think my weight should be? It would be cool if everyone could give their opinion.

that is a good weight for 6 footer... but it all matters on what you want to look like... do you want to be the biggest guy in the room? do you want to look fit? do you want to not look like a bean pole? best thing is get a pic up and ask some questions...

Well what i eventually want to be (look like) is like amcon said...the biggest guy in the room. But why i want to know what my ideal weight should be @ %8 bf is so i can start cycling. So basically, eventually i will get down to %8 bf...but alot of ppl say that at my height (6'6) i shouldnt be anything less than 200lb before i start cycling. So i was wondering what my weight should be - at %8 bf - to start cycling.
