i plan on test and dbol for my first cycle, based on all i've read
if someone starts with more than one compound on their first cycle, then has an adverse reaction, they might not know which compound caused it. If we start with test only, see how we respond, then second cycle add a second compound, etc, it makes it easier to know how each compound affects us.
It's usually because for the first time around, you're not sure how your body will react to AAS, so only using one compound at a time really allows you to judge the side effects and where they are stemming from.
Also, it's not necessary. 500mg/week of Test E is all someone really needs first time around (with proper diet and training) to see siginificant results.

Ive heard to use 250 because if you use 500 you risk sagging.
you seem like you are pretty young.
don't do AAS until you have met your genetic peak and IMO 23 years old at least!
the shoulder question tells us that you are too young to be doing this and that you are probably younger than you state.
Full disclosure: Never done AAS, for the record.
It would also stand to reason, that maybe the test is all you would ever need to meet your goals, (didn't see them listed). Perhaps you get as big as a tree on test, and are 100% satisfied. Since you have never done either, as was stated, you can better guage how you do on test, then move towards another. That way, if you want to stack more stuff, you can either experiement with lower dosages of test if it was not "all that" for you, or jack up the test more (if it "rocked") and nibble on other stuff when you want to push to another level...
As with all drugs (this I do know what I am talking about), your goal should always be to take the very least amount that does exactly what you are intending to treat/fix/benefit from ... If your goal is 20 lb of muscle, and it will take you say 500mg of test e to get it in 12 weeks, there is no reason in the world to take double that for example. You are wasting your time and money, exposing yourself to unwanted side effects unnecessarily, and complicating things that can be simple. We call it the "Lowest observable effective dose"..
To put it in a way that I use every day, if a client reports to the ER with a splinter in his finger, and has pain that is a 4/10, we might be inclined to give him/her some tylenol, rather than just giving them morphine sulphate.. Yeah, the morphine will make your splinter in your finger stop hurting, but is it really worth 2 days constipation, respiratory depression, and being whacked out/drowsy/under the influence for 6 hours for a splinter?
