    Rash!! Help!!!

Injected in the thigh today about 15 hours ago. I now have a red rash on the side of my thigh. A little itchy, warm to touch.

    seems to be pink now

    What is this?

I would say abcess changing color/warm/itchy..but the fact that there is a rash makes me think allergic reaction.

Could have been oil in sub q rather than intramuscular. Did you clean the injection site properly? Are you using the same injection site more than once a week? I wouldnt worry about it you could have just gotten some oil in the sub q layer of your skin

If it persists go see a doc.

That is the sign of an infection. Do you have any anti biotics on hand? Don't panic at all though.

Amputation is the only solution....lol jk

Keep an eye on it, and go to the doctor if it symptoms worsen or if you have antibiotics than take that route.

definitely not abscessing in 15 minutes.

definitely not infection in 15 minutes.

    my hypothesis:
    (1) lanced vein causing subq bleeding
    (2) allergy to solvent

oh, well in that case... i would not be worried about infection/abscess still. likely reaction to injection.

The rash is gone this morning, but the bruise at the injection site is still there.

I would think so. Do you know if your gear contains EO? I agree with Jigga... probably just a mild allergic reaction. If going away, then you should be good to go. If it gets worse after a couple days, then see a doc, but it sounds as though that is not the case. You can sheath the machette....

yes, im a really good guesser when it comes to these things. i think the lanced vein/allergy was an excellent hypothesis. yay for me.
