infection maybe, anytime you introduce a foriegn material into the body, thats why you change pins, one to draw, and a brand new one to inject....

IF you injected it you could get an infection but you may not...... it may fester it's way out......

I'd sit tight and keep and eye on it..... if it starts getting red and hot get to the doc and tell him you injected B12 and may have accidentally injected a piece of the stopper.

word, good idea, thanks. It looked like a bubble in the light that I couldn't get out...and then i looked in the vial and there were more bubbles...but they weren't bubbles they were pieces of the rubber stopper.

Personally..... i wouldn't lose sleep over it but i would keep my eye on it. When you wake up in the morning.... check it..... tomorrow afternoon..... check it..... if it's not getting red and warm.... you should be ok.

    Product Overview

    Kendall MONOJECT Filter Needles with Polypropylene Hub - 18g x 1 1/2"
    MONOJECT Filter Needles with Polypropylene Hub - 18g x 1 1/2"

Sterile, single-use, individually packaged, modified hypodermic needle; integral hub placed sintered, stainless steel, 5 micron particulate matter depth filter; stainless steel laser welded cannula; epoxy needle attachment.

I use these needle to draw from Ampules, so as to not draw any glass shards into the syringe, so it could possibly work for rubber pieces too. They're fairly inexpensive @ $30.00 per 100 units.

These are great..... you can also buy a wattman filter and attach it to the syringe to filter yoiur gear into a new vial.....

Either way would be a great idea so you don't have to worry about injecting another rubber piece.....
