Solution for Strech Marks - Good News!
Thanks to your friend Sigmund Froid, you now have the abstract of a recent medical study proving that Retin A acne medication (tretinoin 0.1%) is effective in reducing stretch marks by up to 20%!!!!
------------
TITL: Topical tretinoin 0.1% for pregnancy-related abdominal striae: an open-label, multicenter, prospective study.
AUTH: Rangel O; Arias I; Garcia E; Lopez-Padilla S
ORGA: Gynecological-Obstetrics Clinic, ISSEMYM Hospital, Mexico City, Mexico.
PUB TYPE: Clinical Trial. Journal Article. Multicenter Study.
CITE: Adv Ther 2001 Jul-Aug; 18 (4): 181-6
LANG: ENG; English
ABST: In an open-label, multicenter, prospective study, 20 women applied tretinoin (retinoic acid) cream 0.1% daily for 3 months to pregnancy-related stretch marks in the abdominal area. Efficacy was evaluated by analysis of one preselected target lesion, which was rated on a six-point scale (-1 = worse to 4 = cleared). At week 12, significant global improvement was noted from baseline in all stretch marks, and the target lesion decreased in length by 20% (P = .01). Erythema and scaling, the most common adverse events, occurred in 11 patients, decreased in severity after the first month of treatment, and were controlled with continued application of tretinoin and petroleum jelly ointment. In this small study, topical application of tretinoin significantly improved the clinical appearance of pregnancy-related stretch marks.

you have to be very patient with it, because it makes it worse first. Very red. I dont think I stayed on long enough as I didnt see anything noticable.

Retin-A is only prescribed by a dermatologist. It's better if you just had someone with real bad acne give you all their shiznit, cuz a little goes a long way. I have used Retin-A before for stretch marks and yes it does work. I would stay out of the sun though while using it, and not tan either, it'll burn the hell out of you. Another side effect is possible sore joints too. It works by removing layers of skin day by day to reveal fresh elasticity in your skin. When you use it, i would use it after showering. When you see the area becoming scaly, stop the usage and let it heal. Your marks will have either lightened up, or gone almost completely away. I have the study on it somewhere, but i do know from personal experience that it does work, just finding a way to get it is the trick.
hope this helps, if not, my .02 cents
