    Is Dianabol a progestin?

I know Deca and Tren are progestins. Is dianabol? What other popular steroids are progestins? Thanks

it does in a kind of roundabout way, if you think about the different types of steroids we deal with they break down into 3 categories: testosterone derivatives, dihydrotestosterone derivatives, and 19nortestosterone derivatives.

the ones that stimulate progestrone receptors are the 19nors mostly, and since dianabol's name is actually [17a-methyl-17b-hydroxy-1,4-androstadien-3-one], you can see from the scientific name that it is a testosterone based steroid and not a 19nor

Got ya. I should have asked what exactly is a progestin, but I've got the concept now. Thanks.

it's all good, i figure the next question was gonna be, "how do you tell progestrone stimulating steroids from other ones" so i answered that too, lol

You knew it man. I've come across some of your other posts in the past. I appreciate the way you encourage people to do some of their own research.

Anadrol is not a 19-nor, its a DHT

And how can we tell from the chemical names, i mean:

    Deca is 19-nor-androst-4-en-3-one-17beta-ol
So its clear there that it is a 19-nor steroid

    Tren is 17beta-Hydroxyestra-4,9,11-trien-3-one
Where does it say 19-nor in there ?

    And Anadrol is 17 beta-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethylene-17 alpha-methyl-5 alpha-androstan-3-one

    5-alpha = DHT

    i know what anadrol is...

i also know it has progestinal activity.

i was giving Phate a hard time because he said those with 19nor in the chemical names were the ones that stimulate progesterone. but as you can see, there is no 19nor in anadrol yet it still stimulates progesterone.

that's why i said the ones that stimulate progestrone are MOSTLY the 19nors, but there are always exceptions
