    Filtering with a swab

    Yo guys,

I found i had tiny rubbers bits in my vial, so what i did was i put a swab between the syringe and the needle and stuck it on tight. Then drew the gear so it passes through the swab and into the syringe.

I have not injected yet but am i good to go?

and no i dont have an wheel filters and it takes about 2 weeks to receive them

That is not good practice. PT is right, you contaminate it by doing so.

Where I live you can pick up filters at CVS. Have you tried your local pharmacy?

this sounds like the method junkies use to filter 'gear' for iv injection. if they did that for im injections, they would be in abscess city. the pieces of rubber are sterile (provided the stopper is still intact), and you likely wouldnt have had any problems. this is why its always good to post before you do something: we've likely done it ourselves or know what to do. get some micron filters and a sterile vial and re-filter. it will be educational.

very very bad idea....as stated above...properly filter the gear then use it. Its not work the infection risk...a microscopic piece of that cotton draw nin and you could have serious issues.... not to mention the contamination that occured as mentioned above

    definitely read over this

filtering through a swab more than likely put tons of little pieces of said swab into the gear
