Cycle Questions
I posted this in the wrong thread I believe, so I am reposting...
Hi all,
Have a question regrading muscle memory. I am 31 and have been working out from the age of 13-14 on a pretty rigorous schedule. The ages of 17-24 I worked out 5 days a week and ate a successful diet. I never wanted to get HUGE, but always liked the physique and strength I accomplished. From the ages of 25-30 I worked out heavy, but waasn't able to stay consistent with my diet and training routine. I was able to maintain but not grow. I was still happy with my training, strength, and physique, but I noticed I was losing "the edge".
I haven't worked out in the past 10 months becuase of my schedule (Grad School and Teaching) however, I have been doing my old 5 day routine the past week. It has been difficult but I've been patient and consistent.
My question is: Is there such thing as Muscle Memory? I lost alot of my gains, however my weight is basically the same (give or take 5 pounds) Clearly my strength sucks, but it is going up every time I train. What will it be like for my muscles to get back to what they were? I understand my age is going to affect everything, but am I starting "over" again? I can tell I have been a weight lifter, as well as others, from my physique at the current time, but it is not nearly what it used to be.
I plan on being back on my diet, training schedule, and supplement schedule, then I will be doing my second AAS cylce in about two months. I want to plateu before I use the gear again..
Overall, I am a pretty expereinced weight lifter. I was a certified trainer, and helped train different athletes at different universities throughout my carreer, however that was about 9 years ago. I am getting older and am wondering what to expect now that I took almost a year off. Is supplementing the same? I also don't notice a change in my metabolism yet. I still have a BF of 8-10% and my physique is looking generally great for not training for so long. I lost the most in my neck and shoulders, but my arms and chest still look great. My legs have kept a lot becuase of the amount of cardio I have kept up with....
I guess I am asking two questions. Will my body "remember" what it was like to train (I never took off this long) and becasue I trained for over a decade is it okay, if my diet and training schedule is good, to do a cycle once I plateau for a little while, or should I wait even longer than that??
I have some great gear set aside as well as a PST all set to go. MY first cycle I did was about 6 years ago, and my body reacted excellent to it. I used Sustenon 250 for a 10 week cycle. However I will be using Test C 250 ml and Deca 250 ml for 12 weeks this time. I also have Novladex and HCG for the post. I'm not one who will be using gear on a gegular basis, but I do like, when I eat and train well, what I have accomplished in the past. I was able to keep most my gains when I used the Sust, but I really had to focus on PST. MY diet and training schedule was extremly rigorous.
Please advise. Thank you very much.

Yes memory exist so the smartest option for yourself is to get yourself back to where you were then assess rather you would like to go further or not.

So get to where I was naturally then see if I want to use the gear? What would the problem be if I used the gear to get where I was before?

Short answer: yes it exists.
If you want a good detailed explanation you should go the the lounge and "Ask the Exercise Scientist." Muscle Science is one smart guy.

Why waste gear when you can get back where you were naturally. I personally think gear should only be used by those that are trying to get to the next level not looking to get back in shape as I say a large percentage of folks that have cycled several times could have achieved their current status w/out drugs. But then again it is your choice in the end and if you have the proper knowledge to go along with doing the cycle right then who am I to tell you no?
As we all know steroids do not do all the work and some cycles can leave you less than satisfied due to infractions in ones diet and training. Two months is not a lot of time to be back in the gym. Train for a while, see if you body responds like it should, then consider to cycle. Muscle memory is there but not joint memory etc. Get your body use to rigorous heavy training then take it from there

I agree with you Reed. I am going to get back to where I was then think about the cycle. Just wanted some confirmation from other people. Thanks for the info. Will my gear sit well in a cool dark area?

yes once you have trained your muscles for a certain amount of time they are able to get bcak to where you once were a lot easier than if you had never trained

This is good to know. I've been hitting it pretty hard for a little bit and I can't belive the fatigue/soreness I now get from being a little older and not hitting it for some time. I'm already swelling up and more vascular. The most difficult thing I'm having is with my diet. I can't seem to get an appetite. Don't get me wrong I'm eating, but not as much as I used to and it seems I need to start out small and work my way up to more food.
I also put my Nandrolone Decanoate 5% Benzyl AL 5% Benzyl Benzoate and Test C 3% Benzyl AL, 20% Benzyl Benzoate on hold for now.
I also have a some freeze dried HCG ready to rock with bacteriostatic water and my Tamoxifen .
But as I said before I believe I need to wait a little bit. I HAVE to be able to take down about 1000 more calories and get over my original soreness.
