Hypothetical shipping issue

Hypothetical Issue:

Someone orders 5 vials of gear. Box arrives semi damaged, with a space big enough for vials to be removed. Doesn't look like it has been opened or retaped in any way. Box is then opened by the recepient and there are only 3 vials in the box. Source is contacted and confirms all 5 were sent. Meaning that in this boxes journey, 2 were removed. Source wil re send but if it were YOU. Would you find a new address to send to or what? Would LE open a box up, take half of the order for analysis? Would love to hear some comments on a purely hypothetical case such as this one. Cheers.

purely hypothetically speaking I think the most prudent course of action would be to move house immediately and change your name

There have been cases where customs has opened packages and then sealed them with "green customs tape" with nothing taken and other cases where they have been opened and some items have been taken and the box has been resealed with the bearing green tape.

It is possible someone other than customs opened it, customs usually has its own tape when the retape it.

And yes customs does analysis testing, it takes a while though (3-4 months) till you get a letter saying they tested it.

The source messed up or some middleman opened the package (mailman, shipping facility employee, etc.)

I have had shipments confiscated and got 0 . If I got part I would be happy .
US customs won't hesitate to take all .
If the mailman is huge with sleeves rolled up . might be him !
