    phlebitis question

Hey guys, some background on me im 32years old, I have been training for 8 years. I competed in powerlifting for 5 and strongman for the last 3 years.
10 years prior to this i hurt my leg at work and developed a blood clot in my leg, i had some varicose veins from the damage and they said the valves had damage so that leg would be swollen for the rest of my life, i thought no big deal and lived a normal life

I did my first cycle last year, around the 7th week i developed what my family doctered called phlebitis in the same leg i injured 10 years prior, he prescribed me antibiotics. The phlebitus continued to get worse the next 2 weeks, I discontinued my cycle, i was freaked out and didnt know what was going on. I ened up going to a vein specialist. The phlebitus spread through my lower leg and began to go up into my thigh. but it all stayed in my superficial system and did not go into the deep veins

The specialist got me in compression socks, this subsided the pain greatly and seemd to stop the spreading. 12 weeks later i was able to return to lifting. 3 months later i competed and won the regional strongman show and then my state, my strength was 100% back on some things, other things still taking time to get back.

My question is has anyone dealt with this problem, I have talked to many people and have gotten mixed answers. My family doc said he did not think Test would cause this, my specialist said he would not guaruntee it would happen but if i went back on test i would have a high chance of causing major damage to my leg and possible death, so do not do it again.

Does anyone know of anything like this occuring and what they did if anything can be done. I recently had a updated ultrasound. My leg is about 100% clear, i still have some residual in my calf.

The only thing I could think of would be an increased risk for a clot becoming dislodged because of the increase in your BP. But if your leg is clear, and your Doctor gave you the ok to lift, I'd say you're ok. I'm just a paramedic, your docs. would know way better than me.

    Good luck!

I can tell you that your phlebitis in your leg is not caused from your juice.

Phlebitis - Phlebitis (fle-BYE-tis) means inflammation of a vein. Thrombophlebitis is the term used when a blood clot in the vein causes the inflammation. Thrombophlebitis usually occurs in leg veins, but it may occur in an arm. The thrombus (clot) in the vein causes pain and irritation and may block blood flow in the veins. Phlebitis can occur in both the surface (superficial) or deep veins.

There, unless you injecting into your vein on purpose, or dont pull back and injected once into the vein on accident, then its just bad luck man. Best of luck to you, be careful.

If it were me, I would not risk doing AAS again! I guess it depends on how bad you want to compete and how much you need them to stay a a competative level! I would just be really worried even if it is not the juice, It would suck for you to find out it is a coincidence and comes right back in you 5-7 week again! And with something like that almost sounds like it comes back worse everytime. I know I would not want to risk a limb for the sake of a little strength. But I am going to try an oral that may hurt my liver so who knows! i still think I would be scred to rsk it if it were me bro! Good luck finding the answer to your dilemma........nine
