Wanting to possible 1st cycle in a couple of months

Im trying to educate myself on doing my first cycle.
Im thinking about starting it in 1-2 months after I get my workout routine, and diet completely in order.
You may have seen questions from me lately, and the advice that Ive received has been top notch.

    Ive stated before that Im
    33 years old
Used to train for a few years, but recently got back into it after a few years off.
    6'2"
    220lbs
body fat is high, but Im not sure of an accuarate rating

Basically, I want to lose a lot of my fat that I gained. Im now eating 5-6 times daily using a rough 40-40-20 diet.
I could stand to lose about 25-30 pounds

Can anyone advise me of a good first cycle? I need to shed pounds of fat, but I want to add muscle mass at the same time.
Please be gentle.....Im still new, and thats why Im making myself wait at least 1-2 months before I do this. I have always believed in educating yourself before you take on projects.

You really need to get a good diet in check first. What does you diet look like in detail (macros too)?

Believe me, Im working heavily on getting my diet into check before I even think about the first cycle. Here was my diet from today......

    Morning-
    4 egg whites(blah)
a scoop of whey with water
    1.5 cups of oatmeal

    next meal-
    5 oz of turkey breast
    4 saltines with peanut butter
    orange

    lunchtime-
    half cup of rice
4oz of ham on wheat bread

    3pm meal-
    more turkey & ham
with 4 saltines & 2 tbsp of peanut butter

    pre-workout
2 scoops of whey protein with skim milk, and a banana thrown in
    baked potato

    post workout-
    grilled chicken- roughly 8 oz
    another cup of rice

And my last meal before bed which was about 20 minutes ago
1 scoop of whey/skim milk with a banana thrown in
and a few bites of ham

I know that Im not there completely on my diet, but Im still learning, and modifying it.
Im feeling pretty d*mn good right now with strength, but Im having to use airfreshener in the restroom at least 3 times per day.

PS- I need to google search macros....lol

    oatmeal pre or post cooking?

    5 oz of turkey breast
    4 saltines with peanut butter
    orange
saltines? why? same question for the orange, they aren't needed
    lunchtime-
    half cup of rice
4oz of ham on wheat bread
lots of starchy carbs very little protein
    3pm meal-
    more turkey & ham
with 4 saltines & 2 tbsp of peanut butter
    same as above
    pre-workout
2 scoops of whey protein with skim milk, and a banana thrown in
    baked potato
you don't need this many carbs
    post workout-
    grilled chicken- roughly 8 oz
    another cup of rice
    not bad
And my last meal before bed which was about 20 minutes ago
1 scoop of whey/skim milk with a banana thrown in
and a few bites of ham
whey is pointless here as it digests in 45minutes or so, how bout some london broil, or cottage cheese with fish oil

I loves me some ham & turkey. As for the saltines.....it just helps me get the peanut butter down for my fat intake.

Once you get those macros, make sure to post them up here so Phate can help you out.

My goal is to lose this fat that Ive put on over the last couple of years while increasing strength, and muscle mass.
Without sounding like a jerk...... I used to be a pretty good looking guy that had a better than avg body (rounded shoulders, definition, etc).
Ive focused more in the last few years on my kids, coaching little league, and bringing home the bacon.
I want to get back to the good ole days, but Im very serious about it. Im not a fly by night kind of guy. I want to do this right, and Ill soak this info up like a sponge.

6'2 220 is not bad at all for your height. I can understand trimming a bit. If you can't get an accurate bf%. Why not post a pic up?

I was going to say I usually throw down a few slices of whole wheat bread with peanut butter. But if your trying to slim down a bit. I'de personally avoid a lot of carbs. I'm bulking so carbs I don't worry about.

That was actually another question that I wanted to ask. If I have a fairly high percent of body fat......so could I cut out a lot of carbs? Im going out on a limb here.....but would my body fat supply my muscle growth in any way?
Ive been trying to find a good diet plan for cutting fat while gaining muscle mass, but searching for that has been pretty hard. It seems like there is 2 specific diets for body building....the bulking diet, and the cutting diet.

Also, any fat that I accumalte seems to go straight to my gut. I no longer have the narrow waist at all.
As I mentioned in an earlier post....Ive cut out drinking beer, and fast food completely, and I think that this will help shed some fat around the middle.

Yeah there are different ways of eating for bulking and cutting. I'm not really a diet person. Phate and jamyjamjr are both really good when it comes to diet. and definitely can kick that diet off for you. But like phate said. Orange not necessary. Saltines and peanut butter... Ehh I'de prob drop that as well. You want to get a good amount of protein every meal.

3 shakes threw out the day... personally that's a bit much IMO. Shakes are good for a quick energy. but that liquid protein just isn't the same as a chicken breast, or steak etc. Why not drop the whey in the morning and add some more eggs? 4 eggs? Whole eggs? egg whites?
