    What is 2a-methyl-5a-androstan-3a-ol-17-one?

    I'm guessing its some kind of prohormone, Josh Barnett came up positive for it and it lost him probably the biggest fight of his life.

    So why would the CSAC deny him a license? Aren't prohormones just pre cursors that convince the body to make more test?

    No, pro-hormones are precursors steroids meaning that the body has to convert them into the steroid it is trying to mimic (parent hormone) through a process that takes place in the testes and liver. The conversion process is really low (less than 10%) actually converts to the target hormone.
