I have no idea where to start

    Hi,

I am a 20 year old, semi-athletic male. I've always been overweight, but have been able to compete at higher levels than most, which makes me wonder how much faster I could be with less fat content and such.

I've worked out a lot and know a substantial amount about lifting, but I never seem to gain more than 5 lbs in anything. I had a bodybuilder for a roommate for the first year of college and he taught me everything. He showed me his photos and went from a little scrawny kid to being able to bench over 200 lbs in just over a year.

No matter how intense I take it, I never seem to add muscle or drop weight (Yes, I am quite aware that lifting and exercising might not show weight loss at first). As I have stated, I have never been able to put on muscle, which is why I am here.

    My stats:
    20 years old
    6'0
    200lbs
Body fat is unknown but I have a gut

I would like to get down to 160 but pack on 20 lbs of muscle at least so finishing at 180.

    Here's where I need you:

What can I take for this?
    Where can I get it?
How soon can I expect to see results? (with great effort input)
How soon can I expect to reach my goals? (with great effort input)

Please speak as stupid as possible when naming terms...I really am new.

I think the answer will be in your diet to be honest, i know if you go down to the diet section there are some very knowledgeable guy who can plan and design a cutting diet for you, i think thats the first port of call IMHO

I don't have a specific diet, I try to eat 6 times a day with high protein and low carb. When I work out I usually do cardio in the morning except the day I do legs

    Monday:

    Tricep
    Bicep
    Chest

    Tuesday:
    Cardio

    Wednesday:
    Cardio
    Shoulders
    Back
    Abs

    Thursday:
    Cardio

    Friday:
    Legs

    Saturday:
    Cardio

    Sunday:
    Cardio

    No lifting

    My two guesses would be:

    1) Diet needs shaping up badly.

    2) Intensity of workouts- workouts need to be reevaluated.

Steroids aren't what you're looking for. Visit your local supplement store and pick up a few things from there to help you aid your fat loss. You can try a fat burner with a Testosterone booster, reshape your diet and do everything properly for about a month.

Trust me you'll see a difference.

If your roommate was a true bodybuilder, he would have emphasized the true importance of a diet and proper training schedule.

Or else he was just another one of those juice heads who took steroids and did what they wanted and his gains were artificial.

If you don't have a good diet how do you expect to maintain the gains once you get off?
