Do work places drug test, test employes for steriods?

I have a buddy that wants to cycle with me, but his main concern is his job. He works at a power plant. Any insight?

It is very very rare.

I worked for a hospital and they knew I was jacked . Still they opped not to test me because if they were wronge they would be out a lot of money . Most companys want to make money not throw it away

i agree 100%, they are testing you for something that might cause a hazard to the work place, more of a liability

ya i think he will be fine.. No point in paying more money just to see if someone is on juice, It wont affect work performance compared to say meth, coke, herb, etc.

The only people that get tested for steriods are fighters, football players, ect.

unless you have a place that wants to spend thousands of dollars on drug testing for AAS here is what you are tested for (9 out mof 10 times)
Marijuana, PCP, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, Methadone, Benzodiazepenes, Barbituates. and sometimes there is one or 2 more and some even check and see if knowing you had a drug test if you have alcohol in your system. It might vary a little if it is a D.O.T drug test for driving but if you go to Wal-mart and go to the medicine section there is 2 home drug test they sell there! Most are as accurate as the ones that most businesses use. and will give you an exact list of what is tested for. My Pain Doctor actually uses those exact ones cause he says they are cheaper and work 99% as good most of the time! Be careful though, some places do a Swab test and others do a Hair folical test.. (hair on your head will go back 3 months, Armpits , chest , Pubic hair can go back to up to a year so make sure if you have rubbed any lines of coke that you have some hair on your head!

Well, i hate to say it but all this advise is old. Last month at my union meeting i was informed that some contractors are now sending men to local providing test sites. No more pissing in a cup. Now they want blood and check it for EVERYTHING! They also do a full physical and physical fittness test. Now im not saying they check for steroids , but doctors/nurses arent stupid and if your not built like the average guy and your test levels come back double im sure they are gunna report this back to the contractor. This is a new procedure and im sure it wont take long for all the insurance companys to require it. Basically its to prevent people from getting hurt at home and saying it happened on the jobsite. I personally think its a total invasion of privacy and i plan on refusing any such test.

sounds like a normal physical blood work to me. I get one every year and Im on gear and so are some of the other guys I work with. nothing has ever come from it...

I cant see them criticizing your cholesterol level, and not saying anything about your test levels coming back double. I really hope your right, because i was "pulled aside" and talked to about the situation. And that means ,you better pass this test. But like i stated b4, i think im gunna make a stand and refuse the test.
