My dad is starting test cyp at 63

Ive been telling my father who is 63 years old about my use of testosterone cypionate . I told him that he should try it, and see if the doctor would put him on HRT. He called me today, and said that the doc gave him 200 mg every 14 days which isnt bad.
He used to be an instructor back in his early days, and was pretty big.
He works out, but Im trying to set him up with a good split routine so he can add some muscle without getting hurt. I dont see him bench pressing 300 anymore because of a bad shoulder. He basically uses nautilus equipment, and stuff like that. With his bad shoulder, some exercises are off limits.
Does anyone think that he can add some lean muscle with this amount? Anyone ever used this amount with good results?
I also got him taking protein shakes after workout.
I think that hes 6 ft, and about 180lbs. Hes lost about 30 lbs since he started back training, and should easily be able to see lean muscle when it comes on.

Im not to sure that he's going to be adding any lean muscle, whats more important is that he keeps fit, stays away from anything that can cause him injury and most important, "he enjoys himself"...

He may be able to put on a minimal amount of muscle. The main thing will be maintaniance of what he had to begin with

I don't like the 200mg's every 14 days..... what doc did he see? My fathers urologist prescribed him 250 every 14 days and his hormones were a rollercoaster. He went to an HRT doc and got put on 250 EW..... My father is only 48 tho.....

I'd keep him at, at least, 125mg-250mg a week. Adjust it to preference and what he may be trying to achieve.

You can also try doing cycles of 250mg/week for a couple of months, then back to 125mg.

Yeah, Im sure that the doc can adjust as neccesary. I know that diet is the main thing to be strict with.

I am 63 and have used stuff since i was 34. That small test dose isnt going to do much for him,if he wants to see some gains i would suggest some EQ with the test,200 to 400 mg a week. He wont have any bad sides. As long as hes healthy he shouldnt have any problems. The problem i have with more than 200mg a week of test is the sides, everyone is different and i start getting more bad sides from anything over 400mg a week of test.

Hes gonna strictly take whatever the dose is. His natural test level was higher than mine. I had a 328, and he said that his was over 500. I think the additional test should really benefit him with making some light gains. He has leaned out a lot in the last year so any gains should easily be visible. I would think that doing less every 7 days would be better than taking it all every 14 days though.
We go to the same doctor, and hes great, so Im sure that he can help my dad get the dose worked out. I couldnt believe that he gave it to him with his levels being already good for his age.
You hear so much negative shit about doctors these days, so Im very thankful to have a good one.

I highly doubt at 63 they are going to raise his dose any higher than 200mg every 14 days. What i did because i did not want the rollercoaster was tell my doctor I would prefer shooting 100mg every 7 days. Test levels do not fall off until day 5 so you can keep them pretty constant this way. He will not get a ton of muscle but at his age, 100mg of test every week is going to make him feel gret and he should if he eats decent be able to get himself a small amount of good quality muscle. just make sure he does not ovwr do it at his age! As far as a higher dose than that, My doctor explained it to me like this.. 100mg a week is way more than the average human would ever produce naturally so anything higher than that is not needed to replace the missing test in your body. One guy above emtioned his TRT doc put him on 250Week, that is acutally not even considered a TRT dose that high. 200mg a week is considered the highest TRT dose and I do not think there are many doctors out there willing to prescrie any higher than that. Doc told me that anything above 150mg a week increases the chance of gyno and other problems like 5 fold. this is what i was told when i discussed getting my dose raised.
