air bubble when drawing back?

Hey,

Just wondering if its normal to see an air bubble when drawing back the needle to check for blood after insertion? I had a friend check cause i had a hard time seeing the syringe stick in my butt and they said no but it looked like there was a bubble. I pretty sure it wasnt there to begin with cause i inspected closely and drew slightly more in and squeezed out the extra into the bottle until i had my dose??

And no i did not proceed.. i took the needle out and am about to try again.

yeah it's fine bro, if you pull back and you get a bubble it means you aren't in a blood vessel or vein, the air bubble is caused by open space in the muscle you are injecting, if you pull back and get blood though change needles, use another alcohol wipe to disinfect and inject again

yeah it's fine bro, if you pull back and you get a bubble it means you aren't in a blood vessel or vein, the air bubble is caused by open space in the muscle you are injecting, if you pull back and get blood though change needles, use another alcohol wipe to disinfect and inject again

Actually it's from the small amount of air trapped in the needle itself.

Being drawn back wards into the syringe.

But, Phate has this protocol correct as usual.

interesting, i've actually drawn an air bubble after pushing cyanocobalamin out of the needle(holding needle up and pushing till solution came out of needle), i wonder how air got in there?

It was left in the syringe.

You can never fully purge the air out even under the circumstances you listed above^^^^.

I know a doctor, (female), works in her office and the hospital ER.

I asked her this exact question, and that is what she told me.

Kudos to all who replied.. although it took me 2 hrs to get the balls to do it and 1 wasted needle, I went ahead and did it again but succesfully this time. Although my butt feels like I got charlie horsed lol. Anyways first shot wasn't so bad.. thanks again <3
