I wanted to ask for an opinion or two on my next cycle. I did my first real cycle last winter/spring. That was:
16 weeks of Test (e and p), with some deca/winni.
Proper pct for 4-5 weeks hcg, clomid, nolva, and I ran some adex during cycle as needed.
32 years old, 156lbs, 5', 12% bf
I made some good gains. I was up about 15lbs of muscle at the end of the cycle and as of right now (5 months later) I kept 10lbs of it which was my goal from the beginning.
I have had some trouble recovering and I think it is because I ran the cycle too long. I was running good doses of Test the entire cycle so i was shut down for a long time. I never had limp dick at all but for about 6 weeks after pct I definitely wasn't very interested in sex which is NOT like me. We were going at it like a couple of drunk monkeys while on cycle, twice a day sometimes. I didn't have much energy either. I tried some test boosters and felt a little better but got terrible acne from them. Over the last 2 months I feel like it has come back. Sex drive is much better and I have a lot more energy. I feel like i'm back to normal now.
For my next cycle I am going to try to avoid being shut down for so long by doing a few things different. For one I am going to run the normal amount of Test P (100mgs/day) starting on day one but i'm only going to run it for 8 weeks. I'm also going to run hcg starting in week 2 of the cycle and run it till the end. Thinking around 250iu's twice/week. I'm going to run the same pct as my previous cycle - clomid 100/100/50/50 nolva 40/40/20/20 and probably run hcg during first two weeks of pct also. I'll use adex as needed.
I wanted to get some opinions on this. Do you think that switching from a long, drawn out cycle with mild doses to a shorter cycle with heavy doses is a wise idea for someone like me? My idea is to hit it hard right from the beginning, train like an animal, eat like an animal with a lot of clean protein/carbs and gain as much as possible in those 8 weeks. Then come off and hopefully my recovery will be easier due to not being shut down as long and the use of hcg throughout cycle. My goal is another 10lbs of muscle.
