week off did world of good...

Had to take one week off training due to illness but got straight back on it and now i'm having the most intense workouts i've had so far this year! First fews days back on muscells were aching hard the next day, which i wasn't getting before. After today's workout my pump was hugh and i even managed to push out a couple more reps then i've done for the whole of this year

Feels great...It's now got me thinking that every now and then i should stop training completely for a week then start again and I might be able to make some more gains... What do you guys think?

I do it every 4-5 weeks, depending on how my body feels. I just took last week off, man my legs hurt bad from yesterday!!

Worked for me as well. I think it may help to let your body completely heal with rest. I believe I will start doing this maybe every 6 wks. or so.

It most definetely helps. I was pissed at myself cause i missed 3 days in a row cause i was just so tired. Well when i got back in the gym ihad a great workout. I need more time off now than i used to and it's hard to get used to.

Wasn't sure if it was psychological at first, cos my work collegues said i'd put on weight so i put in that extra effort lol

Makes sense that it gives your body a chance to fully recover

Just really hard to stop for a week, think it's like a drug weight training and if i don't get it then i'm moody and down
