Ephedra vs epherdine ?

is there any diference betweens ephedra pills and ephedrine? some guy at my gym told me the ephedra pills are stronger and there illegal in most states ne 1 know if theres ne truth to this cause i was thinking of buying some off him thx guys....

ephedra is a synthetic form of ephedrine, and ephedra is illegal.

probably wrong on this one, but isn't ephedra the plant or genus or whatever? and ephedrine alkaloids are the actual ingredient? so if you were buying the ephedrine your actually getting the drug itself,whereas if you were buying ephedra it is plant material and your not sure how much of the drug is actually standardized...? just my thoughts, not sure how accurate...

Ephedra refers to the plat Ephedra Equisetina or Ephedra Sinica, both commonly known as Ma Huang (not to be confused with Ephedra Nevadensis, which is not active).

Ephedrine is the compound a-[1-(methylamino)ethyl]benzyl alcohol. It is the active component of Ephedra and is commonly used as the hydrochloride as a bronchiodilator.

The the correct answer is... Ephedra is the herb, Ephedrine is the active compound.

ephidrine=synthetic

I usually get more of a speed effect of the synthetic version, as for which one works better it's different for everyone, it is illegal in some states, but you can usually get through mail order services with no probs.

How about ephedrene (spelled with e instead of i) is this the same? The product I have says "pure ephedra extract, ephedrene".

Just wondering if anyone knows of any sites or posts that deal with how ephedra effects the body, as in how it actually works?
