screwed up my last injection... A bit nervous
Well, I just did my 18th injection and it didn't go as smooth as the other 17 so I'm a bit nervous. I did everything for the most part the same. I did inject a little more gear as I'm slightly increasing my dosage for the final 3 weeks. Anyways, I cleaned the area with alcohol and then wiped the top of the vile with alcohol as I always do, drew the gear into the syringe, changed needles. Then I wiped the area down again and injected. I aspirated as normal. What was different was the angle I injected. Instead of being straight in I was at more of a 45 degree angle. So, when I was injecting the gear I did more the needle out a bit so the gear wasn't as deep in the muscle as normal. When I pulled the needle out I was at that angle and because of that the tip of the needle didn't come straight out but more of a cuting motion. There was a fair amount of blood. Anyways, I wiped the area with the alcohol wipe (new one of course) and put a bandaide on it.
Well, it's been about an hour and a half since I inected and it just doesn't feel right. There is a small lump at the injection site which I'm guessing is because the gear wasn't deep enough but it just kinda aches. I've been feeling a bit lightheaded since as well. There isn't any redness and it's not hot to the touch so I'm hoping it's not infected. I'm just guessing because the needle was pulled straight out that is the issue.
Is there anything I should be looking for when I monitor this so I don't have any issues?
Thanks,
Pete

How soon would the swelling and fever start? Is it typically within a few hours or much longer? It's feeling better now so hopefully it's nothing.

Well, it's been 3 hours since I injected and so far no fever and no swelling. Hopefully all will be OK. I still don't feel 100% but there is hardly any pain at all right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If you have a small hematoma at the injection site you might have hit a vein. There a little internal bleeding but it will stop. You might get a little light headed. The main this is to monitor it and don't panic. Just take it easy and see if there's a change after a few hours.

Well, it's been 14 hours since I did this injection and I don't have a fever so that's a plus. It is a bit swollen though and is black and blue. It is really sore right now esp. when I apply any pressure to it. I will monitor it for the next few days and hopefully it will be fine by then.

Looking at the injection site now it just doesn't look right. You can see the red dot where the needle was injected which is fine but there is a light red circle about 1/2 the size of a dime around that and then it's black and blue around that. I can deal with the pain as it's not that bad. I just hope it doesn't get infected or anything. Still no fever so I would think I'm OK.

Well, it's not infected as it would have shown up by now. The pain is almost gone. Right now the area is just black and blue and a bit swollen. It's about the size of a quarter but it seems to be getting lighter. Moral of the story is to just always be careful and take your time whenever pinning.

haha, wow you seem tense. For future reference it is not smart to say you get a fever with a abscess, because that takes several days. If it is warm to the touch and getting bigger(draw a circle around it) and if it expands rapidly ... like a day and is hot to touch you have a infection brewing get antibiotics asap. Otherwise you just kicked a vein, or your muscle didnt like the oil too much. maybe the ba no one can really tell you. But the only thing you have to worry about is an infection. Otherwise your GTG... btw im glad you lived through it

Update:
The bruising lasted 6 days but it is finally almost gone. I did my next left glute injection last night, 1 week after the issue and it went fine. However, today it is really sore. It's basically the same pain from when I first ever injected there. No big deal though. I only have one more injection at that site till the end of my cycle so it should be smooth sailing from here.
