All insulin not being used should be kept in the fridge. Once opened, I usually leave it out, if the insulin's cold when injected some people feel some discomfort. However, if it hasn't been used after 30 days of being out, you should chuck it. The optimum way to store would be to keep it in the fridge and take it out 15min prior to injections...

I only keep mine in the fridge if I am not using it. During a cycle it stays out of the fridge and if there is much left when my cycle ends then it goes in the bin. That said I get it for $10 for 300ius so cost isnt much of a worry

And Served on the Rocks . . .
Seriously, most diabetics I know keep it in the fridge all the time, usually in the bin on the door so it is chilled but not too cold.
Insulin vials are small enough that when you take it out of the fridge, just hold it in your closed hand for a minute or so - that will warm it up sufficiently for the injection.

Yes- it should be good for 30 days w/out being in the fridge. Keep it in a cool dark place like a sock drawer.

I've been a daibetic for 16 years. You dont have to refig it after opening Also no need to keep it a sock drawer. But you dont want it getting hot. So dont leave it in your car in the summer.
And it will last longer then 30 days. When i used to take lower doses of certain kinds bottles would last me a couple months. My doc even said that 30 day rule is bs and its a money thing. If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong
