    abdominal bloat?????

hey guys. well im 25 YO. in decent shape but always was told to stay away from cardio. since have always been very lean. so i've always concentrated on bulking and not paid much attention to my stomach.

To take u bak..i got a six pack when i was like 15 YO and in two months of working out. I still have one but its never been a priority..cuz i know my body type and cardio and cutting will serve me well.

Now the issue that i have is as ive gotton older. I've obviously good musculature (arms, shoulders, chest...etc) but my stomach always feels bloated (like a preggers woman). It kinda shats on my physique if i wanted to wear body concious clothing.

I researched it and i use to be a vegetarian till the age of 17 then switched to eating meat...cuz u cant grow otherwise i realized...It turns out i mite have low HCL level causing my stomach to create that excess air and giving it that swolen look. (result of a high protien diet and stomachs inability to digest it fast enough)

I look great everywhere but there...I still have my six pack but the bloat kills it...please help me. i really wanna get rid of this problem. Personal experiences???

Im trying to watch my diet as well...

and yes Gasx relieves the problem and my stomach flattens...but u dont wanna take it every other day..any natural remedies?

You can't bloat away a six pack, I'm not sure where you're going with this. It's easy to know 'bloat' by how you feel, but trust me, if you can't (clearly) see your abs, it's too much fat.

i know i dont have the lowest BF % cuz i never do cardio and my abs only show upon on flexing i use to be 10% when younger but im sure that im atleast 13 to 14 % tops. Mostly in the lower area but i still posess a flat tummy which protudes when i get gas bloat or stuff it with food. I do have quite a bit of fat to have abs but thats the sacrifice we actomorphs have to make. until my bulk goals are fully reached im happy with jus maintaing a flat stomach.

i was thinking of adding 3 days of cardio (20 mins) plus and HCL supplement cuz i still do not want to loose hard earned weight/muscle.

    Hey bud

I had the same problem as you. I was very lean, but always had a bloated stomach that really bugged me. I would want to wear tight tops because the rest of my body was looking great but I couldn't because I looked pregnant lol.

So after doing plenty research, trying different diets and seeing different doctors, I realized that I was gluten intollerant. So I had to cut out anything with gluten e.g. oats, bread, pasta ect. I also have a mild case of IBS so i cant eat gassy foods or I bloat up(not nearly as much as when i was eating gluten). For this reason I also stay away from most fruits and veg and milk as well. Not sure if this would apply to you, but it can't hurt in trying for a week or so.

    My diet looks like this:

    Breakfast:
Quinoa porrige (quinoa is a gluten free grain that contains complete protein)
How I make this is I take a cup of cooked quinoa, boiling water, a bit of soy milk, add sliced banana, some natty peanut butter, 1 scoop 100% egg protein powder, and some cinamon (tastes better than oats and has complete protein unlike oats)

I also have 4 eggs scrambled (2 whole 2 whites only)

    Mid Morning

1 chicken breast with quinoa or rice and sweet potato.

    Lunch

same as mid morning but 2 chicken breasts

    before training

1 can tuna with olive oil and blasamic vinigar mixed up with quinoa and mashed sweet potato.. tastes great

    After training

    100% egg protein shake

    dinner

    chicken breast/fish and quinoa/rice.

You can get quinoa at any health store, even most supermarkets these days, and it is easier to make than rice. just boil. It tastes great

Ok, look, bloat only starts to make a difference at around <10% bodyfat (and it's minimal), and then gets more apparent the lower you go. At 13-14% BF, fat is what is blocking any and all definition. Trust me, go ahead and for 3 days drink a shit ton of water and lower your sodium intake a lot, I promise you will look no different at all.

Make up your mind on what you want. If you want definition then incorporate cardio, clean up the diet, and drop weight. You want to bulk and put on muscle and fat, then keep doing that. But understand that "I still have my six pack but the bloat kills it" is bullshit at your bodyfat level.

    Conclusion

This is but small sample of all the evidence I found essentially proving that consumption of any non-fermented soy product is detrimental to many aspects of health. Furthermore, just to be fair and give soy a chance, I actually attempted to find some research which supported soy.

The funny thing is that I wasn't able to find any credible sources claiming health benefits of soy. There were however plenty of "studies" cited by various companies selling soy products.

On an ending note, I would like to remind you bodybuilders out there that according to the January 2003 edition of European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, testosterone levels fell in the volunteers eating soy. Just something to keep in mind next time you eat a protein bar or drink a shake with hidden soy protein.

Watch that soy! And for a diet I would head tot he diet section. Most people are misdiagnosed with things like Gluten intolerance.
    I was!

I do core work to get rid of the bloat. Crunches and situps just wont take that away. Find yourself a high intensity core routine and see how that works. Just my opinion.
