    Seizure Letter

OK, I just got a seizure letter from customs today. Has anyone ever had their stuff seized before? What should I do? I feel like I'm about to die here. Please help!

    What does it say?

In what country do you live?

  3. #3
    I live in the U.S.

It says that they've seized my gear and it says what it was. It says I can abandon any claim or interest in the property or I can request them to send the case to the U.S. Attorney for a court decision. It also says if I choose to take no action they will seek the forfeit the property by administrative action.

just ignore it and get new source!

What will happen if I ignore it? I had my guy reship before I knew it was seized. What will happen if it gets seized too. The way my guys sends it requires a signature. It doesn't have to be mine, but someone need to sign for it. Should I sign for it if it comes or just let it go?

I wouldn't sign for it and I would make sure that there was NOTHING illegal or even questionable at the address associated with the delivery. If it's delivered to a PO Box, I'd make sure the home address associated with the PO Box was clean.

The fact that you are in this situation indicates that you didn't consider the ramifications of a worst case scenario. If you become low hanging fruit, you may be the next to be picked...

You may want to have a consultation with an attorney, if you know one you can trust.

    Don't panic now.

    Good luck, bro.

This is the same as your other thread. Having said that since you received the letter I would not answer then back. All the will do is after 30 days they will destroy the evidence and at the most you might receive a $500.00 fine but that might not happen

Had a friend get gear seized last year and he got his letter. He's a cop and he just ignored it because if you sign for it they will arrest you. If you never show claim then they can't prove it.

the course of action seems pretty simple to me. you say nothing, sign nothing. throw the letter away and as bigBuldog said, find a new sorce. better luck next time. maybe a different mailing address would be a good idea.

Just ignore it. Don't freak out. But I would consider a different source.

Dont worry about it if your gear gets seized again I would change shipping addresses like to a po box or something because they will flag your address if it happens to much then you wont get sheit.

i wouldnt worry about it unless u ordered a ton! of stuff, just ignore the letter and use a diff source for a while if u can. or have sent to a diff add for a bit. I have had order seized two years ago and (knock on wood) have not had another one since.

I can't speak for the US, but i'm in Austrlaia and we have some of the toughest customs in the world.. I had 300 clenbuterol tabs seized on their way from China a few months back, and then the next week received some other stuff that I had pretty-much written off after the seizure. Boy was I shocked!

I've spoken with a lawyer since then, and he explained what i had already guessed at. If you haven't signed for it and received it (if it was only confiscated), then you merely need to plead ignorance. "I didn't know what it was, I never collected it, it was obviously sent in error". (Whatever you do don't argue for it back!)

Of course your name and address will probably be flagged in customs for inspection from now on. And there is the possibility of a raid! (The instant I got the letter, I rushed whatever I had lying around to a safe location - but as the months rolled by i relaxed again)

It sure makes your sphincter pucker up fast doesn't it? hehe Don't worry, if it was considered a big deal by the authorities, you probably would have never received the seizure letter, but instead a 5am doorknock by Federal police.
