    Some Help Please

If I sound uneducated, I am in this subject.

I am 6'3", 250 pound, 31 year old male. I don't workout, don't have the best eating habits. I am about 35-40 pounds from where I want to be. I am getting ready to cut back calories to about 1800 per day. I travel a lot and am constantly on the road, so it looks like a lot of Subway. I can't eat or prepare the foods as I'd like.

My question is, my doctor has prescribed me Tev-Tropin and HCG. He also gives me a 150 Test shot once a week. (This is where I sound like a COMPLETE JACKOFF) I take the Tev Tropin 5 days a week (35 on a diabetic needle) and the HCG (25 on diabetic needle) on Mon and Thu. Are these doses only "therapeutic" doses? Will I see any benefits from these doses? I am not trying to get big, I am trying to get fit with some tone and check my weight. If these are not doses that I will see any changes or benefits, where should they be at?

Of course I will be starting cardio and some light weights. Am I wasting my money on these drugs ($500-$600 mo)? My doctor is pretty relaxed and would probably prescribe me anything that I asked for in reason.

I appreciate your input and your opinions.

I would not be taking anything until I could get my diet in check. Training and diet are the first steps in getting in shape.

You need to have all of the pieces of the puzzle to meet your goals. Training, diet, rest and supplements. Without one of those pieces you will not meet you goals.

Im a national level competitive bodybuilder. I travel several weeks throughout the summer months and that's when I compete. I stay at hotels with kitchens so I can cook my own food. I can always find a gym to get my workout in where ever Im at.

Staying in shape is a lifestyle. You develop good diet habits and train consistantly. There is no easy fix that will stick. Start the plunge slowly and you will (if you really want to) meet your goals and stay there.

Yes you are wasting your money, spend it on a nutritionist and a professional trainer (do your homework on them, there are a lot that have no clue on what they are doing).

IMO, you need to read the above and ask yourself "Am I wasting my money on these drugs"

You are spending the $$ for the assistance of the drugs, but not doing anything that the drugs can assist with

Doc prescribed, but he is spending $500-$600 mo?

Could be bad insurance or TRT clinic

Thanks for all the helpful answers. Yes, my doc prescribed these medications, however, my insurance does not cover them. I have very good health insurance, I just don't think these prescriptions are really deemed "necessary". More of an "elective" thing, like cosmetic

I want everyone to realize I'm not taking these drugs and hoping they are a magic pill. I'm willing to make the changes and do the work, I'm just hoping that they accelerate the natural weight loss and give me an edge.

    Am I off?

    Thanks guys

I think you may want to re-evaluate things.

You are spending a lot of money, but you aren't working out or even eating right. Guess all of this depends on what you want the eventual outcome to be.

If you want to loose weight and change your body composition, you need to get some other areas on track.

Then again, this is only my opinion... and you know what they say about opinions!

    Why are you on test?

No idea. Didnt really ask. He had me do a bunch of blood work, said that this combination of drugs will help me think clearer, increase sexdrive, more energy, sleep better, etc, etc. Also said would help with weight loss. I was first prescribed a presciption called "phentermine" 37.5mg. They made me feel like crap, real jittery, even paranoid. I asked for something else, we switched to the growth and HCG with a shot of test once a week

I think he is on TRT.

If you can get the results of your blood work, that would be great.

Then we can decipher this further.

If you don't need this Dr prescribed protocol, then I might try doing this with out drugs.

I would also get a second opinion by another DR., as I am not one.

I am curious to the reasons why this is being done.

Thanks for response. No medical condition AT ALL. Have a buddy that owns a studio and trains, he was training me, told me to go see "this doctor" that would hook me up. I stopped training, but kept up the meds. I only had blood work I'm sure as a "cover your ass" thing with my doctor in case anyone ever asked him why he prescribed me the stuff I have. All my levels were normal (some low-normal) and not screwed up. Again, think the blood work was just a CYA thing for doctor.

Blood work tells all, for the most part.

If all is normal, then hit the treadmill and light weights to get that weight off.

Dump the other stuff prescribed to you, as it is like a TRT maintenance dose.

Was not enough to do anything anyways.

Need to get the BF and diet down bro.

    Best

Thanks T. That's what I needed to hear. Maybe I'll try the goods again once I'm on track.
