    Question about waiting

    Hey guys,

(I'm new to these boards) lol

I've been working out for a solid 3 years now and have been thinking about locating a source to use AAS (im 22 btw).... but I've read on the forums alot that you should wait another year to use AAS.. People saying they wish they would of waited, or that your wasting what you have now.... I've read up alot but I dont quite understand this? Do steroids lose effectiveness over time on your body? Is that why you should wait so you build more natural potential? Steroids would only accelerate my gains for the long term I thought?

IMO there is a common (mis)conception that if you juice before your natural hormonal system has had a chance to fully develop that you may screw it for good. the reason people use the magic number 23 is because that is (in many peoples opinion) the age where most (not all) people have fully developed their hormonal system. To answer your other question I believe that steroid usage may even have a greater proportional effect on a less conditioned body.Yes steroids lose effectiveness over time. The natural limit thing is kinda bullshit because you cant really ever reach a "limit". The reason people go on about it is so that people have time to strengthen their ligaments/tendons etc. Injuring yourself in the weights room becomes a lot easier with a massive increase in strength.

You need to wait until your 25.

This is due to the maturity of ones HPTA.

Build a solid base until then.

Not necessarily, not everyone has the same HPTA levels and they all certainly dont drop off at the same age as everyone else. I have read many studys on HPTA and natural testosterone producion decline. In one study that harverd did they found that the majority of males on there test panel showed a decline at age 17 another showed maximun HPTA funcion at age 21. Im not saying its ok to start at 17 nor am I saying 25 is the correct age I for one held off till I was almost 27. I say if your serious about starting at a younger age You should go see your doctor and get some tests to see where you stand as far as you HPTA functon and natural test producton and a possible decline in them.
