    acne help/advice!

what do you guys use when you get bad acne? its mainly on my chest and back with some on my shoulders..i am on an antibiotic that seems to help from new stuff coming in but the old stuff was so bad its mostly still healing and scabbed over and whatnot..my dermatologist says i have cystic acne and that i need to get on accutane..but with no insurance right now it would literally be like 5 grand for a 10 month cycle which im not doing. i shower twice a day and wash with benzoyl peroxide 10% which actually is really helping and seeing some marked improvement. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Dawn dishwasing liquid. Been doing this for 22 years and I know all the tricks. It hard when you don't know your own body and what powerful compounds can do to it?

I've used the Dawn trick with success in the past.

That, in conjunction with some tanning, cleared it up for me.

Cystic acne is different than other acne.

Accutane is being pulled from the market.

There is something else coming out though, as I do not recall the name of it right now.

Anyways, if you want to buy generic accutane, you can get it from another country, as the patten is not owned by the original manufacturer anymore.

10 months, around 1500.00 or less.

My source sells it as do many others.

Watch for sides, as it is being sued out of existence in the US.

Usually tetracycline or amoxicllin are solid performers.

    Best of luck

The benzoyl peroxide is great..... If you aren't getting anymore acne and it's just the old acne then you probably don't need B5 but it couldn't hurt to try it in high dosages.

As Titanium said.... you can find accutane online. there are a couple of good acne threads that can be found using the search function..... try it out.

If you do end up getting accutane, make sure to get bloodwork periodically.

The original maker is only making 5% off the drug now, as the world has the pattern now.

Lawsuits are being brought and they are being won.

They said it was costing them more money in lawsuits then making the drug.

One case won 15 million dollars.(yep, thats 15 million).

I'm afraid to take it anymore or tell anyone to use it.

I hear yah..... would you have any clue as to what the lawsuits were over? Or have any links? I'm curious.....

I would never advise anyone to run a prescription dosage...... but in my personal experience..... smaller dosages do the trick with very very minimal side effects.

It seems like the by product of the drug going into the intestinal track is causing colitis, and other nasty Lower GI issues.

I think that if they made it in an injectable form, it may solve the issue.

But, that would be exspensive and what not.

Very true T... good info as usual...

Lawsuits galore... But that's just plain sad as it's a miracle drug and the only, ONLY thing that has ever worked worth a ish for me and many, many other people with this unfortunate affliction.

I'm 31 now, and still get it. No other over the counter or prescription oral or topical meds have ever worked more than a little for me. Negligible at best... Over the years, (14 now) I've tried changing/addressing all the variables I can, including the myths about hygeine and diet...

It's just something you have to accept, or get on accutane. I found some just a few weeks ago and I'm clearing up nicely already. And I had it BADDD, big azz grape sized fkrs that were joining together and ish... Not good! I had to do something or it was gonna scar BADDDD.

But, it's gettign better and at this rate I'm hella confident that it all will be golden by the time the woman and I go on our Carnival cruise in late Feb. IMO the risks are WELL worth the rewards...
