    Question on HPTA axis

Why is it that certain anabolic compounds shut down your bodies production of testosterone when they don't even elevate your bodies testosterone levels ?

    Thanks for any response.

For example, Deca shuts you down but does not raise Serum testosterone levels so that's why you run test with it.....or am I incorrect and way off the mark?....I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

Right deca is a different type of androgen that has similar muscle building properties as testosterone but does not work in the same way synthetic or real testosteron will in the body. Your body doesnt feel the need to produce further hormone with the presence of a powerful androgen in the body like deca.

Okay cool. So your Hypothalamus and pituitary gland falsely recognize it as Testosterone . Thanks.

Atleast thats the way I understand it to the best of my knowledge there is probably a more scientific explanation than I gave but I think that's the general idea.

I agree. Thats part of it. Also the ester it is attached to is so long lasting. The other being that deca has progestegenic properties and as we know, progesterone has a profound effect on lower LH which further suppresses the hpta.
