How can I keep monitored?

I have a few questions about being monitored if anyone could help me I would be very appreative. Thanks.
I can't exactly ask my family doctor to monitor me because I'm doing steroids can I?
Won't he just refuse?
So how do I monitor myself? Do I just go in every week and ask him to check certain things? Won't it be some what obvious to him and won't he give me a hard time about it? If so what do I get him to check and how often.
Is there anyway to monitor myself?
I heard it could wake up your cancer, how do I keep an eye on that?
