After a lay off the gym, and shitty diet for 9 months, how long should I train before starting a cycle. What is reccomended and why?
At least get your muscle memory to kick back in. I'd say wait a minimum of how long it takes to get your muscles accustomed to lifting again.
You will be burnt out after 9 months off. Give it some time.

You should know when your body has peaked again. With muscle memory and all it shouldn't take long.
