Lift twice as much as the guys in the gym but im not half as big...wtf?!?

Been working out 10 years now. Just started cycling. Test e 250mgx2/week for 12 weeks dbol 35/day for 4 weeks. Into my 8th week now. Lifting almost %100 more weight now that im on. My diet is in check. I make sure i eat 2 grams per lb of body weight. Eat about 4500-5000 calories a day. I mean i got everything in check. But the shit that bothering me is that im not really big. Hell i dont even look like a bodybuilder. Im lifting way more than the guys at the gym yet they look way bigger. Whats the deal?

even before you stats it is going to be diet... assuming you are 2x as strong to who you are refering too

i know i know i know you have great ballanced diet... bla bla bla

but is you diet a diet that builds muscle? cuz that is what you need, with out the diet you wont grow much.

You might have some of that crazy farm boy functional strength and crap genetics when it comes to muscle tone and definition. I have a buddy that grew up on a farm and the dude is STRONG, but he is not big at all! There are many many things that play into the amount of weight you can lift. Technique and body type come to mind first. For instance when it comes to bench... There are basic mathematical principles that come in to play. Your shoulders, elbows and hands make a triangle when you hold the bar. If you have longer arms you need to exert more effort to move the same amount of weight as somebody with shorter arms. The amount of muscle that it takes to move that weight will be about the same, but it will look much bigger on a smaller frame than it dose on a larger frame. I hope that makes sense.

I think one major thing that is over looked is over working muscles. I used to live in the gym 6-7 days a week 2-4 hours a day. It set me back time and time again. The only thing that helped me was when I went on vacation. Then I would come back and get a new best.

Chances are your drive it stronger then your body. It needs rest. Less is more sometimes.

I have better endurance when I train constantly, but have better strength when I take about a week off from the grind.

Rest is sometimes overlooked and underrated.

Maybe their routines entail lifting lighter weight for reps

It's probably in your head. You're looking at yourself every day in the mirror. It's hard to notice change, until someone compliments you.

Also, fat doesnt = big. There are a lot of guys in my campus gym who appear to be "big" when they are in a t-shirt. Then, I see them in the locker room nude or with wife beater on, and they look like complete ball of fat with no muscle, which explains why they are not moving any iron. One of my biggest pet peeves is when guys walk around with cut off sleeve shirts on with big FAT disgusting arms, and they flaunt it as if they're appealing.

LOL @ ******. So true. I don't understand why you would show off fat flabby arms when theres dudes half your heighth and weight that can lift the same as you. Makes no sense. If your truely after pro BB, then continue on the righteous path of hard, lean, dense muscles. Dont let size of others piss you off and make you wish you were at that size, because once you get to that size with the work you are doing, you will be the true monster.

has to do with a lot of genetics ....some people grow faster than others...it takes patience ...also make sure you are eating right that has to do with alot on how much you gain

1.5 g protein per lbs of lean body mass, 100-125g carbs per day, 50-g fat per day. You'll get there.

Yeah man... lol.. don't want him blaming me for his belly. JK, You can add more carbs if you feel weak/like you need more power or energy in the gym.

maybe your lifting to heavy, i believe muscle hypertrophy results from 6-12 reps and strength 1-6

Agree with this, me like many others will experience more growth with rep range 6/8-12/15 doing big muscle groups heavy and small more light......

Maybe you should try to not worry so much about lifting so heavy all the time, atleast put in some easy weeks once in a while...

Time off to rest is as important as any other factor. You need time off. Sounds like you have over trained.

Keep you cals up and keep doing what you been doing and you will grow.

maybe because you are currently on a cycle and these so called big guys are currently not. They might be taking it easy.

Yes it does, when your ON cycle you lift alot more then the average you can lift (depending on the gear used). When your off cycle your lifting is only as much as your own abilities naturally.

In the begining i would lift heavy 6-8 reps. Strentgh was high but no muscle results. Now i lift a little lighter but always 10 reps and alot of sets. The strentgh has gone up but more important, the muscles got way more defined, veins popping out, ect..

I'm kinda big? I've been alot bigger and stronger tho, my stats don't impress me very much, I used to lift heavy all the time. Some guys may take it easy.. Or just arnt that strong.. for instance: doing deca and test I'd lift heavier compounds ect. Eq and test not so heavy and a more physical workout, cross fit, circut. No gear I do alitle bit of everything, IMO it makes me a better well rounded, strong, physical person so I'm not just strong at one or two things. And I can cut down on injuries or get over one.

And this^^not to mention, theis big dudes could most likely have a higher bf% and when its a big guy its spread out all over the place just imagine them on a calorie diff diet and 10%bf it would be silly. And sum people lift hungry and that's a no no it will turn your workout into crap quick!
