You still need to use your natural levels of test before you go the aas way.

would you say its more or less equally bad to take steroids at 18 as it is to take them at 21 ? same sides etc ?
why is it that on the forum if you say about taking steroids at 18 everyone frowns but 21 makes it okay ?
    cheers

If someone is advising you to take aas @ 21yo, you should run away from his/her advices.

Its bad at both ages, but at 21 your endocrine system has had 3 more years to develop. Your growth plates can fuse together, so again, at 18 you would have had 3 less years for your body to grow naturally... But you shouldn't take them at 21 either since you will naturally grow until past your 25th birthday with diet and exercise regimen changes.

At 18, and to a lesser extent 21, your natural hormone levels are already very high. All you NEED is some chicken, maybe some creatine, and a strong work ethic. Steroids may help you slightly, but in many cases it isn't that big a leap from your regular test levels. When you start injecting, you shut down your natural production.
In addition, it is widely believed that using steroids at that age can severely stunt your potential for growth later, as well as do permanent damage to your endocrine system. When it most wants to develop and grow, you are shutting it down, stunting its development in the peak formative years. You are risking low natural testosterone levels for life, which means a harder time putting on muscle and possible low sexual libido. I can't imagine how much it would suck to be impotent in your 20s.

That would be the main reasons people say steroids are a no go before around age 25. By that age, most people are assumed to have developed fully. Steroids are still risky, but much less so.
