    re-using needles and syringes?

has anyone ever re-used needles and syringes? Are there in-home procedures for re-sterilizing equipment? Does soaking equipment in alcohol work?
I'm being asked for a prescription at each pharmacy I go to buy needles.

Absolutely not! That's why it says "Single use" on the wrapper. ...and no you can't sterilize them at home and achieve the same results as the manufacturer....Unless you are capable of irradiating items via gamma radiation.
There are plenty of ways to acquire syringes legally and cheaply.

Go to a vet clinic and tell them you have horses and need to give them thier yearly vacine injections. 5-6ml, 28gage, 3/4-1" pins. Just to act like you know what your talking about research the internet for yearly vac. for horses. Never had a problem.

Say you are using them for a project. Oil based painting, artistic venture, etc.

Worked for my buddy every time.

I'm pretty good about getting in-and-out of many injection sites now but sometimes during pinning ill hit a blood vessel and aspirate blood. I'll pull out, push the blood out of the syringe and about 50% of the time, ill grab another pin but sometimes i just jab the same area to try again. Breaking the skin the second time around with the same pin is a bit more difficult and makes more visible marks and sometimes bruises though.

I cant believe nobody has suggested that he simply click the AR-R banner at the top of the screen and purchase his pins there. Dosent get any more simple than that.

I started to, but he posted in the AR-R forum at 9:27 last night in another syringe thread. 8 minutes before he generated this thread. Figured that if he couldn't understand how to acquire syringes from there then I couldn't do anything to assist him.

Yep.....and IMO, dull needles are the least of his concerns if he decides to reuse them.

They are so cheap and readily available there is no use in even taking the chance for an infection. Order them online, no questions asked.

When i was broke id go walking through alleys looking for syringes to re-use !!!!!!!

Im pretty sure you will still re-use even after all these suggestions not to and if you must re-use do it once and store in your frig or freezer to avoid bacteria contamination.

They are readily avail online most places dont even ask for rx, if you need slin needles, most states allow you to walk in if they are used for diabetic purposes.

As the photo depicted the 2nd shot will not be as smooth the 3rd even less and the 4th well you get the picture risks will increase after the 2nd use.

    good luck to you

Do you have a feed and seed supply near you? Like Tractor Supply company? They have needles there. Anything from 25g 3/4" to 16g 2". They are cheap and work just fine. Better than reusing needles.

There are so many sites that sell them online, domestically, that I can't believe this guy is even asking this question. I ordered some for very cheap and got them in like 2 days.

On another note, there are reusable syringes out there, but you have to dis assemble and boikl after every use, seems like more of a pain in the ass than aything. Not worth it when you can get 50 disposables for like $10.
