    Bulking cycle and Muay Thai/MMA

Hey guys iam just after some advice... Iam currently 2 weeks off finishing a 16 week Test-e/eq/dbol bulking cycle... So far i have put on 10kg putting me up to 114kg... Some being fat but i will diminish that. But my question is... I really want to start up Muay Thai fighting, but iam scared that starting this intence training is just going to ruin alll my HARD earned gains??! Yes i want to strip my fat.. But i want to keep as much muscle as i can while still trying to get fit too start up Muay Thai...
My question is.. Is this possible? Or shuld i wait till after pct tp start my training... And if i do is there anything i can do too try hekp retain my newly earnt muscle??

well the rule of thumb is to wait four weeks until after pct to start cutting. If you do the muay tai now, you will really need to eat like a complete maniac. That will burn a lot of calories if you do it intensely so you will really need to jack up your carbs. I am sure you are eating a ton already bc of your cycle so it's going to come down to either starting now and eating more carbs, or waiting 4 weeks after pct

I do combat sports and was wondering what would happen through my cycle. I am studying a Clen ACE/Test Prop cycle. I train with guys that use and I see them get hurt- although they seem to heal quickly. I've never done a cycle (yes I know Tren first cycle is dicey) so I'm wondering if there's something about doing jiu jitsu or muay thai while cycling that is more dangerous than not. The only thing I've heard so far is that Tren hurts your cardio and all the pinning is uncomfortable when wrestling. I'm not as concerned about that stuff as I am ligament issues what-have-you.

I did my first cycle while training pretty hardcore for boxing. I wouldn't do it again. If you are going to run a bulking cycle, that's all I'd focus on. Take the time and do it right. You can wait on the MMA until you are done. It's not going anywhere lol. You are going to put added strain on your joints via lifting heavier weight than your body is used to. I wouldn't do anything like jiu jitsu where you are going to have guys twisting and pulling on your joints since you already are pushing them to their limits.

    But, that's just my opinion.

i wouldnt mess with tren if you do mma. It will rape your cardio and you need a shitload of stamina in MMA

the one key piece of info we need, you didnt give us. why are you going to do muay thai?? are you doing it to stay in shape, or to be a competitive fighter?? if you plan on being a competitive fighter, you can still train and eat in a way that will keep your size. you just stand a poor chance of staying competitive, since youll always be fighting bigger guys.

if you just wanna do it for staying in shape, then go for it. just do your normal 5 days of gym routine, and then train muay thai for 2 or 3 days a week. for keeping your size, its really going to come down to calorie intake and diet.

Thanks everyone for the awesome replys... About the joint strain and stuff.. Because iam really just looking at getting into it there wont be any fighting or pulling for at least a few months... Would it be ok if i just upped my calories say 500 and just start trying to get my stamina up by doing some intence cardio.. Hiit for example and maybe just general bag training until a few months after pct or will this also just destory my gains?

bulking and mma/combat training just doesnt work....being successful in both is beyond challenging.....muay thai is very demanding on the lungs as well as the body....you will need to dedicate EXTRA EXTRA time to STRETCHING!!!!! Bulking tightens muscles and and puts hella strain on tendons....then figure more bulk constricting your body's natural movements....you are in for a ruff time....muay thai in particular requires a great deal of fluid movement to properly execute the kicks, (very different from karate type snap kicks).....i used to grapple competitively as a BJJ practitioner and i ran into nothing but problems when i ran my first cycle....i looked great, was bigger and stronger than ever....and my technique went to CRAP...and more importantly....the lack of flexibility from the cycle gains combined with ignoring the stretching factor contributed HEAVILY to herniating a disc and altering my life permanently......

just my experiences.....and honestly, i was in a training camp with more than a handful of guys who experimented with gear/training......NOBODY found any results that made such a choice worth it.....

my worthless opinion is that gear and training dont go together unless being advised by a dr or very experienced trainer....

I would agree, I am currently at a muay thai camp in thailand and have found it near on impossible to be able to keep going as hard as I can in the gym and even have enough energy or fitness for kickboxing while on gear, but I am mainly concerned with my gym work so that takes the driver's seat.

training for 6-8 hours a day in thailand, is quite a bit different than 3-4 hours a week you would spend training over here. lol. what camp are you at?? i was training at tiger muay thai last time i went.

I would say your heartrate will definitely exceed the recommendation for maintaining mass. In fact you may puke your first couple of workouts if you haven't dine combat training before. It all depends on your goals in my opinion. If you started bulking so you can kick some ass then do the mma. If you want to be a bodybuilder avoid it for a little while. If your goal is to get chics, they seem to love fighter bodies. I am married so about everything I do involves helping me whip some ass.
