In short, the hierarchy from shortest to longest detection is urine, blood, hair.
The latter, is similar to ice and sediment samples in that the drug literally becomes a part of the hair shaft based on the time at which it was taken. Of course this is easily offset by shaving it off.

For the more studious, here is some human physio, for clarity:

A drug will remain (be detectable) in the bloodstream longer than in urine. Physiologically-speaking, drugs leave the body in three ways: 1) absorption (more blood-oriented) because it involves tissue and fat metabolism & storage which later release very small amounts (known as metabolites) of substances/drugs at slower, undetectable rates into urine even AFTER the drug’s terminal half-life (end of usefulness); 2) degradation – the natural breakdown of a drug within the body via its multiple filters i.e. liver, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, lymphs, etc. (which occurs concurrent to the first process) and prepares the drug for the final stage; 3) elimination – the process by which a substance is evacuated from the body via urination and defecation (the throne).
