    Infection or Site Pain

I read the thread on difference between infection and injection pain but it didn't help me out that much.

I did an injection of prop 150mg/ml 3 days ago in my right glute. When pushing the needle in I'm fairly sure I hit a nerve, my leg jutted pretty good. I should of pulled it out but kept going in.

I then injected slowly, and went on with the rest of the injection routine.

The past two days my glute has been a bit swollen and pretty sore. Today after I got off work from walking around all day the area began to become red, and the skin didn't feel tight, but a bit loose. The area is also a bit warm to the touch.

    Liek something was under it.

I drew a ring around it and I will be keeping an eye on it over the weekend. I just wanted to know if this could be swelling and pain from going through a nerve or blood vessel, or if it's an infection?

btw this was my 7th overall injection 2nd one to my right glute so muscle is still pretty new to the gear.

well imo i would be leaning towards infection, red and warm to touch is not good, like you said watch it close bro and if it does not get better quick, get it checked!

Smart move to draw the ring around it, if it remains swollen and the redness grows past the ring you may want to get it checked out. In the meantime try a warm compress.

An infection isn't just local, the white blood cell count should rise throughout the whole body. Check your temperature see if it's higher then 98.6. If your core temp's increasing it's a good bet that you're infected.

Well today I felt a bit feverish, but I've felt this the first week of glute injections from just test flu, nothing to serious.

I feel fine now, area is still warm and swollen and red. I don't know how I could of gotten infected I did everything proper, the only thing different was jutting through that nerve.

Yeah sorry I had to go out of town this weekend. The next day the swelling went down alot, red went away, today it feels fine. I'm very relieved.

I suppose it was just a busted blood vessel or nerve?

Anyways, these prop injections have been quite literally a pain in the asss. My glutes just get soo soar from the injections. My quads don't get sore anymore, but these glute shots kill.

I'm thinking of hitting the delts? Anyone like pinnin the delts?
