C.N.S. efficiency and Steroids???
Hi, quick question, but an important one I'd like answered...
...Does taking steroids improve the efficiency/recovery ability of the CNS (Central Nervous System) 'as well' as the PNS (Peripheral nervous system), i.e Do steroids enhance 'HOLISTIC' recovery ability, OR just specifically the localised 'recovery ability' of the muscles themselves!??
Cheers y'all!!Last edited by GrandmasterSpank; 05-09-2010 at 03:30 PM.

I cannot give a clinical answer but I will respond based on experience.
I believe that it does increase the CNS efficiency but not to the same extend of the PNS.
The PNS efficiency is drastically improved upwards of 300-400%.
Can I say that the CNS efficiency is doubled? Perhaps.
I am able to overtrain on cycle but it is more difficult than off cycle.
If my nutritional intake is low on cycle or if I drop a strong AAS like Dianabol from my cycle and continue to train with equal volume and intensity, overtraining is easily achieved.
Is this to say Dianabol affects the CNS efficiency? Don't know.
There is a fine line between CNS and PNS relationship and performance. Getting to the limit of PNS without dipping into the CNS has been the key to adding tissue and overall athletic performance.
Not sure if I added thing of value or was mumbling. Hope this helps.

Mate, that was exactly the type of quality response I was looking for....i.e. addressing the possibility of overtraining the CNS whilst on Steroids ; and aiming to balance a training routine so that it milks ones enhanced PNS recovery ability as much as possible without annihilating the CNS, and yielding the best gains. Thanks!
Anyone else care to impart their knowledge/expirience???

I’ve found that Steroids increase the amount of dopamine in our brain; by which increases our pleasure principles.
When on steroids, I have also seen improvement on my motor skills, and thinking, so I would say it does to a certain degree.

I've been watching this post for replies, as well. I'm still training naturally, and have gotten pretty good at knowing/feeling when I'm just ~before~ that point of over training.
So, if I were to ever do a cycle, how the hell would I know when to stop? I'm sure there's a bit more to it than say, just multiplying x 2 ....
