Switching pins
I know this is a total newb question just bear with me. All I can get my hands on are Amps of Test not vials. Can I use the same needle to jab as I use to draw?or is it always smart to switch pins even if its not gonna puntcture a vial top?

I....would switch either way. Just to be safe. Better safe than sorry bro.

Besides another reason would be that maybe you wanna use a larger pin to draw up with. Its so much easier to use a larger gauge to draw up IMO.

With a Vial I obviously prefer to use a fresh pin to inject with, but have used the same pin on a vial and then myself with no negative results. Mind you I again point out I prefer to use a fresh pin.
With an amp, i would NEVER use the same pin to inject with.
You are pressing the pin to the glass (in an amp) and holding the amp on an angle. Unless you have some other way or a 3rd hand, I hold the amp in left hand use my left hand fingers to hold the barrel, and my ring hand to draw. I know the pin scrapes on the glass of the amp and would obviously be very blunt and painful if i wanted to use it to inject.
On the other hand a vial unless down to the end, my pin doesnt touch the glass. It will not be as sharp after pricking the skin of the vial, but it isnt as blunt as if it touched or rubbed against the glass.
Hope that helps. And if it doesnt, let us know how the injection went. PS - youre up to date with your tetanus shots, right?

LOL, tentenus was only for if you were planning on reusing needles. Though IMO opinion i dont think you'd get that sick from it (since its clean n all.. just blunt) it'd just hurt like a mo-fo. Though there is a possibility that a shard could lodge in the muscle.
Either way, just use a fresh needle!

I use the same pin with amps with no problem.
Also saw a nurse do the same thing 1 week ago.
You just need to be careful not to dull your needle.
BUT since pins are so cheap use a new one if you want to.

This should spell it out for you.

lovbyts - IMO it'd be more damaged after it runs around a glass amp than the "1 use" picture shows. More like 6, perhaps even worse. Doubt there would be shaft damage though.
PS thanks for the picture.
